Don't disagree but don't really care either. I listen to his podcast which I find entertaining if hardly informative or insightful but I haven't bothered with his writing in years.
He's really not the type to go for superstitious ********. He has his faults but that isn't one of them. Definitely chalk this one up to flu like symptons.
Post game is tricky. I bet you get a massive collective tune out as soon as the first post game commercial airs. I noticed Sportsnet tends to delay the inevitable and put off that first commercial for awhile.
Yeah but he's been very clear on his preference for RF over 3B. He plays RF because that's where he wants to play. I don't think the team ever really cared that much one way or another but he does. He wants to play RF. He won't want to return to the infield. He doesn't like it.
Yeah there's no evidence that Bautista isn't a great guy. I sure as hell wouldn't want to piss him off on the baseball field but it seems like 99% of the time he channels his energy positively anyways. I don't really see why Blue Jays fans should have an issue with him. Guy has been the f***in' boss for six seasons and seems like a pretty decent if very intense person.
Well maybe they don't dislike him but they definitely underrate him. No way he should be losing a franchise player vote to Joe Carter and Carlos Delgado (as much as I like the later and understand the importance of the former).
He's easily one of the fanchise's four all time best players and depite that and being a CURRENT player, he didn't make that MLB Franchise Four thing. That says a lot about how under-appreciated he is. Meanwhile Roy Halladay WHO REQUESTED A TRADE FROM THE TEAM can practically walk on the waters of Lac Ontario.
Dickey can go deep into games but it's often at the cost of his effectiveness. I think Gibby never had any intention of letting him go deep in this one regardless of the score and I think the stats on Dickey and turns through the lineup would support that decision though I don't actually have the numbers handy (seems like this would be a meaningful split for Fangraphs to provide on all pitchers but I digress).
Is he though? He's a great reporter but I've never cared much for his opinions. Seems to me he's just another media twerp with clichéd old school opinions.
What would be annoying (but not unlikely) is that Jose will complain about not signing Price even if another good pitcher is brought in. We saw with the Tulo trade that Bautista will be lukewarm to a positivie acquisition if it's not the acquisition he wanted. Bringing in a good pitcher is way more important than focusing on Price specifically but that's not necessarily how he (and a lot of casuals for that matter) will see it.
Dickey starting and Estrada available out of the bullpen would be my choice. It sucks that the season is riding on either one of these guys but at the same time, the bats are due for the kind of breakout that should make this pitching decision moot.
Sorry but I don't see that at all. I see A LOT of movement and it just seems very improbable that contact was never lost. The play wasn't confirmed and for good reason. It's inconclusive both ways.
I agree but at the same time, Hawkins looked better than he has in awhile. Got a couple of lazy fly ball for two quick outs and then got babiped two death on two strike grounders. Absolutely no good rotten luck.
Offense hit two massive blasts against Kaela. Game should have been over then and there. Jays hit warning track shots for outs, Texas hits two strike grounders for hits. The biggest factor in the loss was absolutely terrible, rotten, s*** luck.
