Yeah I'm kind of torn on this. I'm happy for the Astros but I liked the Yankees more as a potential opponent.

Kind of regretting putting Darvish on the trading block. He came up in negotiations with another owner and I realized that I was willing to move him in the right deal and I figured since I showed willingness to move him, I might as well signal it to everyone but all I'm saying is that he's available in the "right" deal but that doesn't mean I have a particular return in mind other than "a very good one". Though I may seem comfortable with the basement at the moment, I'm looking at ways to climb back out of it. Darvish will be a big part of that, possibly as a trade chip but not neccessarily so. The road map to contention is pretty foggy right now but if you think you can set me on the right path while also helping your own team, I'm all ears but I'm not going to trade him for just some hypothetical best offer and I'm probably not going to be much help if you ask "What are you looking for?". I'm looking to get better with or without Darvish.

Seems like one of our weakest AFL classes. Then again the farm system is a bit thin past Alford at the moment.

I think the following paragraph might need some work. Doesn't really make sense to me: The y-axis is the number of runs for which baserunning and fielding runs (includes the positional adjustment) exceeds batting runs. For most seasons, this is negative. Players can derive a ton of value from their bat. But, there are many positive seasons, led by Coco Crisp’s 2007. Kevin Pillar is also near the very top. He is having a productive season and it’s interesting to see how central baserunning and fielding value are to that fact.

I think one of the old mods (cough Hurl cough) is taking advantage of the presence of more mods to just do whatever he wants.

If the concern is not using Stroman on short rest, they can just slot him for game 3 after Price and Dickey and then revisit the rotation once they get to 7 game series.

I'd be fine with it if it's a 3 man rotation and Price is sloted for games 2 and 5 (if necessary) but if it's a 4 man rotation than f*** that.

I think the generally held belief is that hard throwers benefit more but I don't know if there are any numbers to bear that out or if that's merely a hunch. The Dickey effect is mainly a suppression of homerun percentage which is certainly the kind of thing that Estrada as much as anyone could benefit from.

Being a donor doesn't really change how you're treated here. I'm not a donor and I'm a mod while plenty of donors have received bans.

I would invite you to look at it from a different perspecive. Forget about pinning anything on anyone. That's not my purpose. If I did it, it was only to serve a larger good and I apologize for it. I'm not interested in that at all. What I want, quite sincerely, is for things to get better and I do think that at the moment, it's probably best for other mods to mediate between you two. Don't think of it as tracing all problems back to you two. I shouldn't have generalized that way and again I'm sorry. Maybe think of it more as other mods coming between the two of you and (hopefully) planting a seed of positivity between the two of you that will extend out to the rest of the board. It's not necessarily THE solution, it's merely a place to start.

Look I think every valid criticism you could make of o2 has been made and re-made as this point. Is there really any point in piling on? Trying to turn this into a trial by board opinion isn't going to get us anywhere. As hard as it might be for some to believe not even o2 wants banning sprees and animosity on this board. We're working on better more pragmatic aproaches going forward that should help us get on the right track.

I wasn't online either so sorry if I got the facts wrong. I wasn't trying to mislead and I think my main point still holds that de-escalating things between the two of you will get us on the right track to solving board conflicts more generally.

It's not black and white. There was an Orioles troll who was banned recently. Most mods didn't mind since we kind of brought it on ourselves by having a thread about their board but one of the mods did decide to ban him and none of the other mods had an issue because he wasn't really contributing anything of value. It was no big loss.

Yeah but all the major board blowups can be traced back there. I don't think it's an exageration to say that King and o2 bring out the worst in each other even if others do get caught in the crossfire. I think de-escalating things between the two is as good a place as any to start and we can deal with other issues from there.
