  1. This is a pretty fair assessment and pretty in line with the discussions we've had in the hot tub. I think o2 and King are both good guys but the mix between the two right now is too volatile and bad for the board. Instead of putting anyone on trial here better to try some new approaches that should de-escalate the situation. And more importantly.... GO JAYS GO!

  3. No. I really can't swing it after the Peru trip.
  4. Next time I go to the Rogers Centre, I'll give the 3B side a try. Being from NB, I've only been twice (both times fairly recently). I was 1B side once and OF once. Still haven't seen the team win (saw the opening day Santos implosion and Morrow get hammered in another game).
  5. Wouldn't you see like way more action at 1B and wouldn't seeing the receiving end of Donaldson's throw be just as exciting as the beginning of the throws? I don't go to enough games to have enough experience to compare (I've never sat on the 3rd base side) so I'm just playing devil's advocate here but I always thought the rule of thumb was that all things being equal, 1B side > 3b side because there are way more plays made at 1B than any other base.
  6. Geez I guess not. Account banned.
  7. More proof that Scherzer is awesome. http://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/843600
  8. I have picks. Looking for warm bodies.
  9. Moving into a new house (post trip to Peru) had kept me off the board in the evenings. I always miss all the drama.
  10. Well that the hell does "historic" even mean? I think you mean "storied" and even that's debattable. The Raiders are a stronger brand at the moment. Of that, there is no doubt.
  11. Yeah but that's not what you said. You said the Raiders were more historic. The A's go all the way back to 1901. They've had a rich history including but not limited to their 70s peak.
  12. They started in Oakland and then moved to L.A. and then back to Oakland.
  13. That's debattable. Both were great franchises in the 70s and 80s.
  14. The anus.
  15. I think so too but it's likely very minor. This late in the season, there's bound to be some aches and pains that would benefit from some extra rest.
  16. o2 working the Swedish Vachon cake black market.
  17. I would love for this forfeit of a game to get cancelled before it's official.
  18. Meh. We both know that there's no way to measure Jacoby's impact. FWIW, this is what Goins had to say. You can't make very much or very little out of it. f*** if I know the truth. “In my case last year, it was ‘take pitches, hit the ball the other way all the time,’ ” Goins said. “It wasn’t what I felt comfortable doing. It wasn’t what got me here. Then this year I come in and they both say, ‘Do what you want, and if you have questions, ask and we’ll help.’ And that’s exactly what’s happened. “It’s been great. The biggest thing I think this year is being comfortable. If you’re not comfortable, you’re not going to have success.”
  19. I would consider that mediocre but that's just semantics.
  20. And then he reverted back to his old approach?
  21. So you're saying his improvement isn't real even though his change in approach is demonstrable? And who said anything about him being more than a utility player going forward? Now you're just throwing out a strawman.
  22. I'm pretty sure there's measurable data showing that he doesn't swing at the same pitches he used to swing at.
  23. Well I guess in Goins's case it would be more like from s***** to merely mediocre.
