  1. Tremendous players both of them.
  2. That makes sense actually.
  3. BTW, anyone have confirmation of this presser?
  4. Hopefully it's Saunders instead of Donaldson. Storen DL would be a relief. Don't need a nearly unusable version of him in the bullpen. Let him do whatever he needs to do to come back full strength. Chavez or Floyd could take over the roll of right-handed setup man. Saunders DL would somewhat suck but also be pretty easy to navigate with options like Pompey and Ceciliani in AAA.
  5. Gotta ride those young arms as hard as you can for as long as you can.
  6. I would expect MLB to tidy this up in short order. Though I don't disagree with the ultimate decision, I do agree that it's kind of a dubious thing to determine through review.
  7. Is it time to start up a dubious, reactionary Storen conspiracy theory? Velocity down. Availability limited. Damaged goods?
  8. Ang's just messing around.
  9. I like that Boxy was scheduled to face Puig in the first week.
  10. Interesting comparison. Smoak is definitely a guy who is no fun to watch. You know that he has raw power and that he'll tear into one every now and them but in between you see a lot of terrible looking PAs.
  11. Yeah I understand the logic of the trade but I'm happy it didn't work out. I'm excited to see what Saunders can do. Rooting for him is fun and Pompey is a good caddy. Bruce would be kind of a drag to watch even if he is more reliable.
  12. No matter how much Gibby screws up, odds are he will Ned Yost his way into a strong record and will not be fired. Look at how long Ron Washington held on in Texas. If you win, you stay.
  13. Highly debatable. In his first tenure, Gibbons would throw out a different lineup pretty much every day. He seems to be getting more and more rigid, more conservative over time.
  14. Why wait until Estrada comes back. Perfect time to demote Leon is now. This would give the team the luxury of an extra position player to help deal with whatever's going on with Saunders and Donaldson. The team we'll have a fully rested bullpen by friday anyways so it's not like Leon will be needed.
  15. Who the hell drives without a seatbelt?
  16. FFS. AND I'M the one over-reacting. You need some perspective in your life.
  17. I don't really need to. My side is already winning. Saying things like "pussified" or saying "like a girl" to put something down is on the way out, just like it's becoming less acceptable to say "sissy" (Greg Zaun excepted).
  18. So you're saying that Gibby was saying that playing like girls would be good, desirable? Of course he was saying it was bad. There was just no reason to frame this as a boys versus girls thing. No reason at all. The fact that he did shows that he's fully assimilated the sexist trope.
  19. I just don't think it's trivial. Wearing dresses = being feminine = bad. That seems the clear logic behind these statements. It's a f***ed up way of thinking. I can't believe that people can hear stuff like this and not cringe.
  20. Pompey is the 4th best OF in the org but Cecilliani would have been a nice compromise for those wanting Pompey to play everyday in Buffalo. Seemed like his emergence really created an acceptable third option between Pompey or garbage. Alas...
  21. Well I think he deserves it TBH. It's a pretty flagrantly misogynist thing to say. Phil Robertson level bad. I know he was under a lot of stress but if you fall back on sexist cliches then you're pretty clueless. I find the level of casual sexism that people can utter without even realizing it pretty shocking. He's not a bad guy but good people need to be called out when they say dumb s***.
  22. Actually, that's pretty much how amputation works.
