  1. Jays could potentially finish with the 3rd best record in the AL and have to play on the road in the WC round, while Minnesota has the 6th best record and gets potentially 3 home games, that's f'ed up. Now with a more balanced schedule, really need to rid of priority seeding for division winners. Teams in perennially strong divisions like the AL East always get shafted. If Jays were in the Central they'd be cruising to a division title right now instead of battling for a playoff spot.
  2. Jays post season odds went from 75% down to 40% after getting swept by Texas and now back up to 85% with the sweep of Boston. What a roller coaster ride. We basically need to play .500 ball now over the last 12 games and we should take a WC spot, preferably WC 3 and we then get to face the Twins. Much better matchup then having to face either the Rays or Os. Bottom line though is just get in and anything can happen. With the pitching staff we have, I could see us going deep, especially if the bats heat up at the right time.
  3. For all the hate JS gets, his decision to pinch hit Biggio for Chapman, single handedly saved the game for the Jays today. Score a win for Schneider today. He made all the right moves. Chapman looked pissed too, but these are the tough decisions that good managers make, even if it pisses off a veteran player.
  4. He's gonna be a Dodger I bet!
  5. With the Jays winning yesterday their playoff odds are now st 59.1% according to BR. Even with getting swept by Texas, we still have an excellent chance of making the post season. We need to play well, but we don't need to be perfect. 8-6 over our last 14 games likely gets us in. Just need to focus on winning series from here on out.
  6. What you fail to factoring in is that the Jays will gain a minimum of 4 games against either Texas or Seattle because they play each other 7 times. Could be more if one of those teams wins 5 or 6 of those games. If either one of those teams struggle down the stretch were in. My guess is 88-89 wins will likely be enough to capture the 3rd wild card spot.
  7. People really need to come off the ledge. Jays still have a 53% chance of making the playoffs according to BR. Yes it sucks that we've lost 3 in a row to Texas but we can just as easily turn things around and win 4 of the next 5 ect...At the end of the day we just need to get there and anything can happen. We need to likely go 10-6 or even 9-7 to get in. Season is far from over at this point.
  8. It's a huge blessing that Texas and Seattle play each other 7 times over their last 18 games. Jays basically need to 10 of thier last 18 to make the playoffs. Need to hopefully split the series against Texas and we are gonna b e in good shape. Take 2 of 3 from Boston and play .500 ball against Yankees and Rays should get us in.
  9. Dude literally forgot how to pitch after the 100th pitch. Going from pitching 25 scoreless innings to literally forgetting how to pitch. What a crazy game!
  10. Jays summoning the ghost of Chuck Knoblach upon Ragans. Literally the wheels fell off after the 100th pitch.
  11. Nice scoop by Vladdy. That was a tough hop and bad throw. Saved a run there.
  12. Jays need a new video man. Love to know the statistics around the league of successful challenges. I suspect the Jays are near the bottom of the league.
  13. Babe Schneider does it again!
  14. Aroldis Chapman is complete Trash now haha! The Rangers give me hope for the Jays. So it's not only the Jays that find epic ways to lose
  15. Yimi just made us all eat crow! Good job!
  16. f*** off Schneider. How do you pull Kikuchi for our worst pitcher. Garcia has been brutal all year. Unreal! Schneider tries to over manage way too often.
  17. Huge series upcoming against the Os. Realistically we need to take 2 of 3 or even sweep the series if we have any shot at winning the division. Even with a sweep we would still be 5.5 games back. After this series we play 15 games against 4 of the 5 worst teams in the MLB. We need to go 11-4 or 12-3 to put ourselves firmly in a WC position and be in a spot where we can still challenge for the division with our last 12 games against the Rays and Yankees.
  18. How are we not sending Whit in that situation. Pathetic. This team is so frustrating to watch sometimes. We need to be much more aggressive in the bases with the speed we have.
  19. Wow, never thought we were gonna pull that off! Way to settle down Romano. Felt like we did everything we could to lose that game but managed to hang on.
  20. Why does Schneider insist on using Romano in tie games? Romano is the closer, he does not perform well whenever he is put in during a tie game. He should only be brought in when we are winning in a save situation. He's lost 5 games now when brought in when the game is tied.
  21. Jays are actually in a pretty good position right now, we have an easier schedule down the stretch then most of our division opponents except for the Yankees. Baltimore has the 4th toughest schedule left remaining while we are 14th. We have a really good stretch of beatable opponents at the end of Aug/beginning of Sept. Those last 12 games against the Rays/Yankees to finish the season are gonna be fun! http://powerrankingsguru.com/mlb/strength-of-schedule.php
  22. Really think we need to seriously look at adding a top end starter at the deadline. Manoah is done, he needs to be sent down for the rest of the season. No way he can be trusted to start games down the stretch. I'm not a huge Stroman fan, but I think we need to really look at picking him up even just as a rental.
  23. I Think we need to play wait and see before we even think of going after Stroman. Give Manoah 2 more starts to see if he's really back to his 2022 self. Tomorrow will be a big test for him with a dangerous SD lineup. If he proves himself over the next few starts, I think Stroman is off the table with Ryu also coming back very soon. I think our main target needs to be a power bat, even if its a bench piece like Nelson Cruz. I don't see us making any major moves at the deadline except for maybe a rental BP arm or Power bat.
  24. I think the Jays need to seriously look at picking up a legit power bat at the deadline, even if it's just a rental for the rest of the year. Vladdy has no protection in the order right now and we don't have a legit #4 hitter. We've been cycling through Chapman, Belt, Varsho ect... in the number #4 spot and none of these guys are cutting it. Who is available at the deadline that could provide some protection for Vladdy?
  25. Lukes just saves Schneiders ass right there. How the hell do you not pinch run for Kirk on that situation. Mind boggling
