  1. Can't believe we got this Gimenez guy for Spencer Horwitz lmao The Guardians even threw in a reliever on top of it
  2. 0-4 to start the season haven't scored a run in 23 innings their lone FA acquisition is suspended for PEDs, calling into question the entire 3 year deal multiple star players are hurt and in typical AA fashion they've got no bench/depth to cover for them scrambling to acquire bums like Verdugo and Stuart Fairchild Not off to a great start.
  3. Fangraphs updated their Top 100 list. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/post-spring-training-top-100-prospects-update/ Boss- #59 Nimmala- #70 Roden- #82 Tiedemann- #112
  4. Feels like this Nats series is a must-win or the season will be in jeopardy.
  5. TO goes insane for bobbleheads. It's nuts. Never experienced it anywhere else. I got an Ohtani Star Wars bobblehead in Anaheim once and the Star Wars convention was in town. Star Wars nerds were showing up and getting multiple bobbleheads and leaving. I got one by showing up 30 minutes before game time. In Denver you can show up at a normal time and get a bobblehead no problem. In TO you've got to get there 2+ hours early.
  6. Add Devers to the list too. He is 0 for 16 with 12 Ks lol
  7. Key takeaways from this series, both good and bad: -Gimenez looked amazing -the backend pitching looks like s*** with Scherzer going down and Lovelady and Barnes sucking. This could be fixed quickly if Fluharty performs and Y-Rod/Bloss can replace Scherzer but it’s pretty concerning right now
  8. Yeah Judge isn't that bad. Aaron Boone, Michael Kay, the media coverage, their joke park dimensions and their insufferable fans are another story.
  9. I believe they always do this because they want to have a buffer in case Opening Day gets rained out. Then they can just move it to the next day without a hitch.
  10. I wonder if more and more games will be moving to streaming with MLB breaking ties with MLB. *I meant ESPN
  11. Boston definitely seems to have the most helium right now. PECOTA has them finishing last though, for whatever that is worth, with 80 wins. Also has the Orioles 1st and us in 2nd. Yanks in 3rd and Rays 4th.
  12. First year in what feels like a decade in which I no longer have to complain about Biggio being on the Jays' Opening Day roster. What a feeling
  13. The Red Sox will be interesting. They did make a ton of additions and they also have those top prospects. But they lost a lot of underrated guys or guys who had pretty good seasons for them. So when they add Chrochet, Bregman and Chapman they are replacing a fairly high baseline in Tyler O'Neil, Pivetta, Kenley Jansen, Chris Martin, etc. There's no doubt that the net result will be positive, but how much better are they over the 81-win team they had last year? And then on top of it they are already dealing with injuries to the rotation. Crawford and Bello should be back before too long but opening the season with Richard Fitts and Sean Newcomb in the rotation isn't ideal.
  14. Crazy how closely-grouped together everyone in the AL is this year. You have one garbage team (ChiSox), two below average teams that aren't that bad (A's and Angels) and then everyone could make or miss the playoffs and I wouldn't be surprised either way.
  15. It's tough to keep Yarbrough when he's out of options and wants 2 mil guaranteed. The other back of the bullen candidates are at least one of the following: cheaper (all of them) younger (all of them but Barnes) have options (Tate, Walker, etc.) or currently tinkering with their stuff which might give them a true talent change (Lovelady, Barnes). If we should be upset about anyone it should be Nance who has some of the best Stuff+ in baseball. Though I'm not sure if he's still sticking around? I haven't heard anything.
  16. It's hard to guess on contracts/extensions for Catchers.
  17. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2025-positional-power-rankings-bullpen-no-16-30/ Fangraphs says we have the 19th best bullpen.
  18. Looking at Barnes and Lovelady's spring Statcast game logs to try and figure out what the Jays are seeing. Barnes threw a slider more than any other pitch this Spring and he got a ton of whiffs with it. He has barely thrown one throughout his career so this is something new. Lovelady is throwing a sweeper a lot. He started throwing it last year but not very often. Maybe it could pair well with his sinker which has inverted break?
  19. It's not that dire. Green-Yimi-Hoffman should be a good 7th, 8th and 9th inning tandem.
  20. Ok well this team is in love with splitters so it all makes sense now. Thanks
  21. I'm literally sick that Jacob Barnes made the team Are we doing his agent a favor? Does he have photos of Ross Atkins? What the hell is happening here?
  22. Yarbrough was mildly intriguing but I like Yariel more as the swing man. Then on top of it we have Lovelady and Little as lefties who I probably like more. Then Sandlin is effective against lefties too. You can’t keep everyone and Yarbrough simply got pinched in the end.
  23. Lovelady seems solid but Barnes sucks.
