  1. Damn SJW's always trying to ruin everyone's fun. The language barrier definitely adds to what makes it funny so you can't just replace it with a North American person (whether that person is black, white, hispanic, Asian), then it wouldn't even make sense it would just be weird. You could replace him with a guy of any race from another country though. My name is Pierre and I am FREEEENCH! Laughing at that would that be racist? I don't think it would be. But then again I might not be as politically correct as you or others. Weird antics like dancing and goofing around in the dugout also get a lot of play, whether the player is Japanese, Hispanic or white.
  2. So if I laughed after he had his game winning hit and interview I was being racist? Was I being racist when I laughed about his "monkey never cramps" interview?
  3. Half a million isn't completely inconsequential when you are running up against the budget limit either. That basically turns in to another 1 million of possible salary you can add at the trade deadline.
  4. He was fine as a AAA player and it's not like he was misused, even by AA. He played in case of emergencies only and he was above replacement level. Not sure why it's fashionable to start s***ing on the guy.
  5. It's offseason spitballing similar to "the best shape of his life". He probably beefed up but it's not pure muscle nor was it meant to be taken exactly. Point is, Sanchez has added some weight as he expects to compete for a rotation spot. And I think that's the right move, I've got him slotted as our #7 starter right now behind Hutchison and in front of Diamond.
  6. Not a fan of this unless he comes dirt cheap (and I don't think he will).
  7. I'm not sure about his mechanics but I do get the feeling that Osuna will remain a reliever and that Sanchez will start the year out as our 7th starter so we'll see something like this: 1. Stroman 2. Estrada 3. Dickey 4. Happ 5. Chavez 6. Hutchison (AAA) 7. Sanchez (AAA) 8. Diamond (AAA) That's not terrible depth for a team that started out the offseason with 3 big league starters.
  8. Lol well not my intention, I only rustle jimmies once in a great while - usually Friedman fanboys for abandoning the ship.
  9. Oh come on. I'm mostly teasing but you're creating a strawman there. No one on this board loved AA and hated Friedman. If they did they were a troll. You did, however, hate AA to such a degree that you stopped cheering for the Jays. You thought so highly of Friedman that you started following his teams. Now the two have collided and I thought it was worth pointing out is all.
  10. I can't really think of any AA fanboys who hate Friedman. That certainly doesn't describe me as AA is meh to me and I like Friedman. It's just funny that someone you think is so stupid and incompetent was just hired by the guy that you think is nails. So do you still cheer for the Dodgers even though the guy that caused you to leave the Jays works there now? And what about Friedman? He just hired a guy that you think is so stupid you gave up your hometown team for. Do you think less of him?
  11. How do all you Friedman fanboys reconcile the fact that the man you hate the most was just hired by your mancrush?
  12. Man if both Osuna and Sanchez remain in the pen this is a pretty solid top 4 along with Cecil and now Storen. Loup is fine as a middle reliever too.
  13. I'd almost just have Storen close. As has been mentioned, if he were to get 40 saves next year we might be able to sneak a QO in. Also, like Hurl said it weirdly would keep Osuna's arb numbers down.
  14. Well we've got a starting OF plus a backup right? Not the worst situation.
  15. Seems like a yearly ritual for me where every single year Mike Mussina isn't voted in I go to his fangraphs page and check out his numbers and am wowed and amazed like it's the first time I've seen his numbers. What a career.
  16. http://bbwaa.com/ Griffey and Piazza voted in. McGwire and Tramell off the list. Looks like Hoffman, Bagwell and Raines could get in next year.
  17. All depends on price but dumpster diving for BP pieces is usually the way to go.
  18. If Bruce were on this team he'd be our 6th best OF.
  19. The bullpen will be fine. Doesn't look great right now but it also isn't exactly terrible either. We've got a couple months until ST starts to tinker with it as well.
  20. I don't really know how to gauge how well starters translate in to the bullpen. Hernandez is a little bit better than replacement level as a starter. I also think with our elite infield defense and whatever effects the "slow turf" has makes him a good fit for our team since he has a good GB%. Could he be the long man for us? Probably not ideal but we could also probably do worse. I'm not sure what to say about Penny. You'd think at this point he'd have tried relieving already if anyone thought he'd be any good at it.
  21. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/25430538/mlb-to-offer-single-team-mlbtv-packages-in-2016 I don't know how beneficial this is to all you Canucks with the blackout policy but for someone living in the States this is pretty cool. I actually think 130 bucks for all games is a hell of a deal but I don't have any time to watch games other than Jays games. If it's significantly cheaper a single team package would be pretty neat.
  22. They have the top 3 K/9 pitchers from last season now in Chapman, Miller and Betances.
  23. Not a bad list at all but I think Stroman and Pillar are getting too much love and Bautista is too far down. I also don't agree with your stance on age - men age like wine women age like milk. But I guess it would explain why you give a lot of love to Stroman and Pillar and hate on Bautista and Martin.
