  1. How the hell is he only 27? He looks 37 and it seems like he's been in the league for 10 years already. He used to be solid and looked like a potential star but has just tanked like crazy.
  2. I didn't realize there were 2 outs either. Unbelievable little league stuff by Craig.
  3. As I send that last one he hits another jack. He could have a 30/20 season so he might want to test the market at this point.
  4. After thinking about this some more, Bo and Vlad are the most obvious but would take a ton of years and dollars. Semien could be a smart guy to extend. Groshans and Martin aren't too far away but Biggio is looking more like a good utility bench player to me. Infield depth has haunted this team forever. I can't even think of the last time we had good depth there. Given his soft market last year, a 4 for 70-75 or something like that for Semien could get it done to lock him up through his age 31 to 34 seasons. He'd project to start out as a 4+ WAR player at age 31 but would eventually settle in as a 2-3 WAR guy by the contract's end. If he continues to play like a Top 10 MVP guy like in 2019 and 2021 in his early 30's and in that case he'd provide plenty of surplus.
  5. Bo, Vlad, Ray, Matz and Semien would all be worthy of consideration. I might consider Chatwood as well but my guess is he'll want to test the market after recently reinventing himself.
  6. Saw this quick blurb on Fangraphs about Stripling. https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/waiver-wire-targets-week-8-2/ I checked his pitch mix today and he threw his Changeup 20% of the time, his curve 20% and his slider 12%.
  7. Haha good question. Not sure why he would do a double switch anyway but the difference in speed between between Jansen and Tellez is pretty significant. Jansen is actually pretty fast. 72nd percentile.
  8. Yeah that's a no brainer....unless Montoyo is doing a double switch or something?
  9. TBH I can't really think of too many egregious errors with regards to bullpen usage so far this season until today. Bergen sucks ass and walks a lot of guys so putting him in a bases loaded spot with the game on the line is pretty damn stupid. BUT- Meadows is pretty awful against lefties and Chatwood was pitching like s***. I think it was a dumb move and said so at the time but I least see some logic there. On the other hand, the Espinal bunt (even with two strikes and extremely well defended) was completely retarded. I don't get that one at all.
  10. Montoyo is so predictably pro-bunt in these scenarios that he could have turn it in his favor. The Rays know he’s hellbent on bunting so they crashed harder than I’ve ever seen a team before. Espinal swinging (even a fake bunt half swing) or a steal attempt would have been a play in something they didn’t expect. But Montoyo doesn’t think like that. “We only need 1 run. Just get the bunt down.”
  11. Yup it’s extremely hard. But to their credit Pat was going nuts on Montoyo
  12. Who does bunt well anymore? I thought Espinal actually had some good efforts there but these pitchers are throwing 100 mph gas. Dropping a bunt down the line is basically impossible but these dinosaur managers think it’s the 80s still where pitchers are throwing 91 mph fastballs and 74 mph curves.
  13. To add to my last post though, the Rays know how retarded Montoyo is so they kept the extreme shift on anyway bc they knew Montoyo was hellbent on a bunt. That HAD to have had an effect on Espinal. He would have had to have had a perfect bunt to be successful there and he could see it.
  14. With the infield defense shifted so extreme to protect against the bunt, Espinal probably is actually a good hitter to have at the plate. He doesn’t strike out much and he hits a lot of ground balls. Any batted ground ball in that situation had to have had a very high xBA.
  15. Adley Rutschman or Alex Kirilloff? Adley is a Catcher but Kiriloff has some injury and plate discipline issues which are a little concerning. Probably a toss up right?
  16. The Angels are going to finish with 70 wins and the Jays are going to threaten for 100 so Vlad Jr. is my heavy favorite. Ryu is a prohibitive lock for the CY.
  17. Dylan Bundy or Eduardo Rodriguez in dynasty?
  18. Thanks for the participation ya'll. Just kind of something I was pondering earlier today and wanted to see what everyone though. It's crazy how fast things can change with pitching prospects. If you told someone before the season that you thought Manoah was the better prospect they'd think you're crazy. Now it looks like it's trending the other way.
  19. I don't think the technology is 100% accurate. It has produced some very odd strike calls from time to time.
  20. Really nice work there. Crazy how many close calls he got exactly right as well, down to a half inch.
  21. I think they are a pretty decent team. Suspect pitching but a solid lineup could help them ride a hot start into year long contention. Despite their recent penny pinching, if they are in it I bet they'll add at the deadline too.
