  1. He might actually get some decent playing time. Avisail Garcia is listed as their starting RF right now.
  2. And he'll settle in next to Dan Vogelbach on the bench. Brewers seem to have a thing for our mildly interesting castoffs.
  3. I thought we might be able to get a ham sandwich for him even though he's out of options and sure enough Atkins did. He's good enough to be on a major league roster.
  4. He was a frustrating player. Very good batted ball profile as well as sprint speed but weighed down by inexplicable defense.
  5. He looks pretty good there. Vlad Jr. is looking pretty good here too: Instagram WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM I think it's absolutely KEY that once spring training starts that we keep these two as far away from each other as possible. Abuela makes one round of comfort food for those two fatties and it's game over. All the gains they made this offseason are gone.
  6. That's why we just wait and trade for a rental ace to lead us to the promised land.
  7. I'm all for signing Walker or Odorizzi to one year deals but I don't think it's the end of the world if we don't. Steamer thinks Walker is worse than a lot of our other back of the rotation options like Stripling or Matz. We've also got tons of multi-inning options we can stack that could provide better value than those two. I suppose Odorizzi could be intriguing bc he's not far removed from a 4 WAR season. It's more about adding depth IMO and if that's the case I wouldn't mind if we simply signed someone cheaper like Porcello or even went dumpster diving and signed Brett Anderson, Shoemaker or Rich Hill who might sign minor league deals. Maybe that would even allow for a Rosenthal signing which could prove to be a pretty nifty move.
  8. Yeah I'm not sure that a guy like Walker makes much of a difference compared to a trade deadline acquisition.
  9. The 2006 offseason was a fun one too. Burnett, Glaus and BJ Ryan were big additions.
  10. Your predictions have been pretty accurate. You got Panik right and Phelps instead of Wilson. Now on to the SP.
  11. Buntoyo makes us watch him more than we should have to as well. He was using him like he's Ben Zobrist or something last year.
  12. Only a minor league deal but he probably makes the team as our backup infielder. I was hoping for better but they must not have liked the prices on Marwin and Miller.
  13. We need 40 man spots anyway so dumping Reese for a low level lotto ticket sounds good to me. Surely someone could use him. If I was the GM of a s*** team I'd probably be calling the Jays about him and Fisher.
  14. He's talking about that chart having us projected to have the same exact record but their win percentage is higher. I appreciate the breakdown of the Braves though. Saves me a trip to Roster Resource.
  15. Yeah I think Biggio is smart enough to make adjustments. It is a little concerning though because he's already a .235 to .250ish hitter as is. If that craters due to a drop in homers his bat gets pretty pedestrian pretty quickly.
  16. Thank you very much for your help! That's a good point about flipping the prospects, the guys in this league tend to overrate them IMO. I'll mull it over some and maybe see if I can get him to sweeten the pot.
  17. They would be on the minor league roster so not taking up a roster spot.
  18. Sorry it would be a keeper. 18 keepers each year. 25 man rosters with 15 minor league spots.
  19. I'm in a 14 teamer and some guy is backing up the truck for Bauer. The league favors starting pitchers. He's offering Dinelson Lamet, Nate Pearson, Matt Manning and Jasson Dominguez for Bauer. That's an absolute haul but I'm worried I'm getting three pitchers with arm issues and a 17 year old lottery ticket. The replacement level player in a 14 teamer is awfully high so I'm worried about those pieces delivering. I also probably have the top team in the league so I'm worried I'm significantly hurting my chances this year. Bauer really has only had 1.5 good years but his fastball spin rate was amazing last year so I think he can keep it going. So do the Dodgers. Anyway, I suspect this board will tell me to do it I just wanted to hear anyone's thoughts if they were willing to take a look at this. Thanks!
  20. Just got caught up on the Rockies press conference. Monfort is so full of s*** lol. He said the motivation for the trade was that they were worried that Arenado would opt out at the end of the year and they would get nothing in return. But this trade is worse than nothing in return as they got a bunch of slop and had to pay $50M bucks for it. The truth is that they wanted him to opt out to save money but didn't think he would. So they did a ham-fisted salary dump and added a bunch of non-prospects that they can try and dress up to spin this trade as an actual baseball move. "We aren't cheap! We paid 50 mil to get these young studs with great futures!" It's pathetic and the Monforts are cementing themselves as the worst owners in North American sports. Sad!
  21. I know everyone is on pins and needles with regard to my dynasty league trade talks so I thought I'd provide an update. Rather than trading Adley Rutschman for pick 1.2 which would net me Martin, I traded pick 1.3 (probably Zac Veen or some other 2020 draftee) and 1.5 for 1.2 and pick 2.2. The idiots in this league think I got hosed for some reason but to me there is a pretty significant dropoff this year after Torkleson and Martin. Pick 1.5 isn't really all that much better than pick 2.2 IMO (in a 14 team league). Anyway, thanks to everyone for your advice! I appreciate it!
  22. Yeah the Porcello's may be holding out for 10M or 2 for 16M or something. Maybe they won't get it but checking the box with Cobb at 7ish is fine compared to that. Also agree about the 40 man being a factor in the Matz deal. I doubt the Angels have as big of 40 man issues as we do but dumping Jones to secure some SP depth isn't going to hurt.
