  1. I just read that this was Judge’s first home run on a pitch outside the strike zone all season.
  2. In addition we would have Yariel, Nance, and Bruihl. As unlikely as it seems after yesterday, this could work. Fangraphs gives us a 47.4% chance to win tonight, for what that's worth. I believe that is actually our best odds of any game this series lol.
  3. You poo poo everything and have been doing so since the offseason. Here's just one example. Acting like you are positive and in agreement 95% of the time is hilarious, unless you count mundane things like "I agree with putting Vlad in the lineup".
  4. Ignore the stupid commentary Look at where Schneider is when that ball finally lands
  5. Yeah the broken clock is right twice a day and all that. He has criticized every single decision the team has made and declared the season over back in December. Finally gets something right and then starts a victory lap lol.
  6. The Barger error wasn't all his fault. I don't care if he calls it, Schneider has the ability to call him off. But Schneider gave up on the play when Barger called it though so he couldn't call him off, even if he wanted. The wind must have picked up like crazy though. You can see Schneider track the ball and when Barger calls for it he just winds down. From where the ball actually landed and where Schneider stopped tracking, it must have move something like 15 feet.
  7. Yep. When subbing early in a game, they choose the better player over the better defender, even with a lead. They did the same thing in that big Mariners comeback. When Merrifield got hurt early in the game with a big lead, they went with the better player (Tilapia) over the better defender (Jackie Bradley).
  8. The bullpen game seemed like a good idea heading into the series. Two bad games from them and it doesn't seem so great right now. I'm hoping that the long layoff for these guys has played a factor. It's been a week+ layoff for pretty much all of them. That could be copium though.
  9. Unlikely to homer off that velocity without someone relaying him signs from 2nd.
  10. I feel like they can and should get whacky with it tomorrow. Lots of options: Gausman on short rest. Yariel could be the opener. Start Lauer. I'm going to get tarred and feathered for this one but they could open with Varland tomorrow too. Trey The Savage is even an option for a couple of innings. He only threw 78 pitches and tomorrow is his throw day. Can't throw both Gausman and The Savage but damn near anything else is an option.
  11. Yeah Lukes and Barger are pretty good players. IKF is mid at best. But in certain scenarios it makes sense to play IKF and tonight is one of them.
  12. IKF starting tonight over Straw, Lukes and Barger is the right call. 1. Lefties have a .209 xwOBA against Rodon's slider and he throws it A LOT against LHB. Lukes and Barger cannot hit LHP sliders. IKF at least has a .272 xBA against LHP sliders. Straw has similar numbers. 2. Bieber is a groundball pitcher. This is probably why they are prioritizing IKF's infield defense over Straw's OF defense.
  13. Agreed. If we beat the Yanks this will be a season we can look back on fondly. But the Mariners and Tigers are beatable and we will have home field advantage. Gotta get it done and get to the WS.
  14. This is a fascinating start from Bieber today. Former ace coming back from TJ pitching in a big game. His next contract could be heavily impacted by this game as well. The Yankees will probably stack the lineup with lefties but he's dominated them this year on the strength of his new change up. With the offday and the Yanks being at home, they will be as prepared as they possibly could be. Bieber has given up some loud contact this year so it will be important to keep the ball in the yard. I wouldn't mind a quick hook for him, but with tomorrow being a bullpen game will we try to push for an extra inning?
  15. Let’s hammer these a$$holes. I want Vlad launching a nuke in the first inning and I want him to pimp it so hard that the boos start raining down before he even hits first base. I want Yankees fans to watch ball after ball clank off the wall while their infield boots routine plays. Their strikeouts piling up, the scoreboard flipping like a slot machine for the visitors. And I want nine full innings of the broadcast camera glued to Aaron Boone’s face as he slowly, visibly realizes this is it. This is the night it all ends, that he’s watching his last game as Yankee manager unfold pitch by pitch. Run wild on the bases. Pound the zone. Make the plays. Break their spirit. Let’s bury these frauds. Go Jays.
  16. Jays bats will feast on this Dodgers bullpen in the World Series
  17. Ok that last point is a very good illustration lmao
  18. Fangraphs LDS Odds as of today: Jays: 85.1% - Yankees: 14.9% Mariners: 58.4% - Tigers: 41.6% Dodgers: 74.7% - Phillies: 25.3% Brewers: 67.7% - Cubs 32.3%
