  1. My general sense is that the team is going to approach these two with extensions some time in January when the offseason has slowed down a bit. What do you think it would take to lock them up and would you be comfortable doing so?
  2. I guess the AAVs are coming in close to where we thought it's more the length that has been bigger. So maybe like 7/175 for Nimmo. Sounds nuts to me but so does an 11 year deal for a 30 year old Bogaerts.
  3. Could be an option involving Jansen but given the prices on starting pitching I really think we need to try and work something out with the Marlins.
  4. KK and Conforto seem right, maybe slightly low. Conforto at that price seems like a steal when Bellinger gets 17.5. I think you are way too low on Nimmo given this market. Steamer projects him to out WAR Bogaerts next year. I could see him getting 6 for 180. Maybe even more.
  5. This is a good plan. Gallo instead of Conforto could be an option as well and should be cheaper. If Gallo sucks we can put Merrifield in the OF more to spell KK and Springer and then make a trade at the deadline.
  6. Wakey wakey Ross. I hope you had your morning coffee because it’s time to make some trades. I’d start by giving your gal down in Miami a call and seeing what she wants for Pablo Lopez. Based on your past trades with her she’s probably still interested in slap hitting infielders lol
  7. I might be getting ahead of myself but it seems like extending Vlad or Bo is going to be really tough after an offseason like this. They are going to start making real money via arbitration, especially Vlad, and they only have 3 years to go until they can try for 12 year mega deals. I can't even fathom what extensions would look like at this point.
  8. If Bogaerts is getting 11 years and 280 mil what is Correa getting? Correa is a full two years younger than Bogaerts.
  9. Signing these dudes until they're in their early 40s!
  10. https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/as-winter-meetings-come-to-a-close-blue-jays-opt-to-wait-out-other-opportunities/ "The same thing happened in the trade market, where they and the Cardinals both held their ground, prompting St. Louis to sign Contreras instead of trading for Danny Jansen or Oakland’s Sean Murphy. One industry source believes the Cardinals never engaged on outfielders Lars Nootbar and Dylan Carlson and tried to make a deal with closer Ryan Helsley instead." 2 years of Jansen for 3 of Helsley is awfully tempting.
  11. Where did you see this?
  12. Do the Brewers have anything we would want that they would realistically part with?
  13. #11 Prospect and a throw in for 1 year of Jimenez. Given the RP market it seems like a decent deal for both sides.
  14. This isn't a bad train of thought. I think Trollosi mentioned a scenario like this about a month ago. Among the top tier FAs I like Correa a lot.
  15. Yeah there are still some Gibson types on the board.
  16. Easy to say in retrospect but they should have offered him the QO. 19.6M for 1 year when Taillon and Walker are getting for year deals for similar AAV is a steal. I don't think anyone predicated that the market would explode like this though. Angels so damn lucky to get Tyler Anderson for 3 years, 39 million.
  17. Ok the Kikuchi/White as the #5 news is BAD but I'm not surprised they aren't in on Rodon. Dude is going to get 150 mil in this market and his arm could fall off at any point. Rather than trading a C for an OFer, I think they need to trade one for a SP. I think Espinal should be dangled in a package as well.
  18. Gausman's deal is an absolute steal. I don't think we can say the same for Berrios though. He has 6 years, 112.2 million left on his deal (18.7 AAV). If he were a FA I don't think I'd like that deal very much. Yimi Garcia's deal is looking like a heist right now. Even Kikuchi's deal, even after the year he had, isn't looking like quite the shitstain that it did prior to this offseason. If he could turn it around and be serviceable as a #5, or turn into an above average reliever, it won't be that bad.
  19. In a market where Taijuan Walker got over 70 million I don't see the Astros trading 4 years of Luis Garcia for 2 years of Danny Jansen.
  20. The Marlins make a lot of sense. Pablo Lopez is apparently on the block and Jesus Sanchez is a lefty hitting OFer with some upside. I think he's more of a corner OFer but he and Springer could share CF this upcoming year. The Marlins will no doubt want Kirk or Moreno so if we want to move Jansen as the centerpiece for Lopez we'll have to add. Maybe something like Jansen, Espinal, Richards (if Strahm is getting 15 mil Richards is worth something to a cheap team in this market) and a prospect for Lopez and Sanchez?
  21. Yep, he had 70 good games last year and his Fanboys treat him like he's Johnny Bench. The truth is that his body is made of glass and he can't see for s***. We'll be lucky to get a ham sandwich for him at this rate.
  22. Matt Strahm is ass and just got 15 mil guaranteed. Montero is pretty mediocre and got over 30. Swanson is easily better than both of them and comes at a fraction of the cost. He’s worth a lot more than you’re giving him credit for.
  23. Tyler Anderson at 3 years and 39 mil is looking like a steal at this point.
