  1. LMAO @ The Bellinger fanboys acting like they are too good for Kevin Kiermaier! You have got to be s***ing me!
  2. Ok well if KK is getting a 3 year deal then forget it. I was assuming one year deals for both for some reason but I suppose KK will be looking for a two year deal at least. I think if the AAV is low enough I'd still consider KK but that's a good point about Bellinger looking to sign now and KK milking the market. This is why I still post here. Even an old dog like me can still learn new tricks. You might have to sift through piles upon piles of Jansen fanboy ******** but eventually you get insightful nuggets like this.
  3. If we are going to go the Bellinger route I think we'd strongly have to consider Kiermaier instead. He very well may be the better hitter than Bellinger and he's probably a better baserunner and I'm almost certain he's a better fielder. He's older but it doesn't really matter on a 1 year deal. I guess he's got more health concerns but I bet he signs for significantly less and I'm not sure he's the worse player.
  4. Yeah if his defense is passable in CF (which I take to mean below average but playable heading into next year) then that makes sense. But if it's near elite like statcast is giving him for the past two years then that's a whole different ball game on a 5 year deal with him.
  5. It seems the big knock on Nimmo is his power but if he had power he would be a 200 million dollar free agent, he wouldn't be a 100 million dollar free agent.
  6. What is the risk with his profile? He seems like he has an incredibly high floor due to his OBP skills. He can put up 5 WAR with just 15 jacks, for example. I think he'd be a good signing if it's around 4 or 5 years around 20-25 mil AAV. The only thing I'd want more info on is his defense, is he REALLY above average in CF or is that just metric noise? I suppose I'd want to know more about his injuries as well. Nothing seems to be a chronic concern though.
  7. Not necessarily. Riding pine or getting sent down to Buffalo are other viable options. And who knows, maybe Manfred wakes up in a good mood one day and decides to juice the baseball again. The Didi's and Cavan's of the league could become useful again.
  8. Probably tough to get Bellinger to sign here to be anything other than at least a strong side platoon bat. I don't think we get him as a 4th OF. I think he'd work in a platoon but it's comical for everyone screaming for a left handed bat to also think that Bellinger and his garbage offense is going to somehow balance the lineup lol. But anyway: Against RHP: 2B: Whit CF: Bellinger RF: Springer Against LHP: 2B: Espinal CF: Springer LF: Whit The positions are approximate, maybe Gurriel is in LF and Whit in RF or however you want to do it. But please note that in all scenarios Craig Biggio's son will be riding pine, traded to a non-contender or demoted to Buffalo and will be out of baseball in 2 years (his dad will get him a job sorting mail in the Astros organization).
  9. Value for value the trade looks great. Teo for one year of control probably would have gotten something like 22-25 million. He's projected to make 14. So he's like 8 mil in surplus value. Swanson for 3 years would probably get more than Montero, so like 3 years and 35 mil. No idea what Swanson will get in arb over the coming years but this year he's probably worth around 7 mil in surplus value. We also got a Top 10 prospect. The trade was a fleece.
  10. Ok I think we’ve gone too far on the Nimmo hate with this one lol
  11. I’m talking myself into it. His D is better than I thought and he puts up enough WAR that if he averages 120-130 games a year he’d be fine. But like anything it’s the classic case of if the Jays sign him it’s a great move and if they don’t he sucks.
  12. 4 years on Nimmo and I’d do it. 5 maybe as well. 6 would just be too reckless.
  13. Knock Jansen’s glasses off or connect somewhat square on what I presume is his glass jaw and you’d knock him out too
  14. I wonder if the Dodgers are working on trades with Bellinger. They could pay 6 million of his salary or whatever and could see what they could get when he's getting paid 1 year and 12 million.
  15. Kiermaier would work. Could be some platoon options there with Springer shifting over to CF against lefties and then putting Whit in the OF with Espinal at 2B.
  16. Mariners trade Kyle Lewis to the D-Bags for Cooper Hummell.
  17. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/blue-jays-send-teoscar-hernandez-to-seattle-in-three-player-trade/ Fangraphs is a big believer in Swanson and grades Macko as a 45+.
  18. I don't think Arizona really needs a Catcher that badly. Sure, any of ours would be an upgrade for them but between Varsho and Kelly (who projects for 2 WAR in just 90 games next year) they seem to have the position covered well enough that they might be looking for something else if they trade an OFer.
  19. Ross Atkins somehow got the Mariners to accept this trade lmao
  20. I looked up an interview to see if he has some sort of f***ed up accent and can confirm that he does not thank god
  21. Just strike Teo out with a slider every time he’s up and bean ball everyone else in the lineup and we’re good
  22. At first I was sad to see Teo traded to the Mariners of all teams but if Atkins want to fleece those f***ers via trade to exact his revenge then by all means he should
  23. Not only did we get a possibly elite RP with 3 years of control left but we also got the Mariners to throw in a legit prospect. All for a 2.5 WAR OF making 14 mil in his last year. This is the kind of switcheroo trade fans always come up with in their offseason plans where they trade away an expensive guy to fill a hole and then use the saved money to sign a FA to replace the guy they traded. These moves almost never happen IRL bc most GMs aren’t stupid enough to just not sign the FA on their own accord without moving assets in the trade.
  24. we completely fleeced the Mariners
