  1. Looks like Andrew Friedman preferred KK over Bellinger as well. So on the Kevin Kiermaier side we've got Ross Atkins, Andrew Friedman, yours truly the Sheriff and some of the other smartest posters on the board. On the Bellinger side we have the worst franchise in sports history in the Chicago Cubs and a collection of some of the dumbest baseball minds ever assembled on a sports messaging board (with some exceptions).
  2. Seems like this is a good scenario for the Jays. Braves weren't an obvious trade fit and the options for the remaining teams are dwindling.
  3. How many flagrant violations of the "no politics rule" is Jim going to be allowed to commit? The guy is just openly flaunting the rules at this point. I recommend a life time ban.
  4. Could be worse I thought he was going to Rick Roll me
  5. Wow Jim is handing out apologies? You probably owe me hundreds Jim. I'll take one big blanket apology but can I get it in video format? I think that would go a long way toward righting some of the many wrongs you've done over the years.
  6. Yeah like I said it was fluky but 107 wins isn’t like winning the division with 88 wins and to do it with that crew was impressive. I was even impressed with them last year and the year prior to 107 wins. The roster is ass but their FO is good at squeezing out maximum value out of the guys they do have. I agree with others though that it’s time to step things up a notch.
  7. Do the Giants have anything they’d give us for Jansen?
  8. Zaidi’s fence sitting has been pretty damn good so far. They won 107 games and the division two years ago. Was a bit fluky and not sustainable but it was impressive nonetheless. I agree that they should def be trying to add a star player in FA though. With Zaidi’s ability to add via dumpster diving, an anchor to the lineup like Correa would be a really good match and would let them compete for WC3 at least most years.
  9. Sounds like when the offseason started they were going for 2 SPs but now it looks like they are going to bring in one.
  10. Our bench is going to be stacked with Espinal, Biggio and a Catcher along with one of those OFers. One of them will be DH too.
  11. Doesn’t seem like money was the biggest issue although I’m sure it was a factor. Seems like he just was really that interested in Toronto itself is how I am reading into it. Is there something about being in Canada that causes hesitancy for Japanese players? We’ve obviously had some over the years including Kikuchi but it seems like we’ve never been in on any of them that are posted and/or come directly over.
  12. Well to clarify they are good but they aren’t 400 million dollars on player salaries plus tax good. Not the best team in baseball and probably not even the best team in the division.
  13. The team isn’t even that good lol
  14. Not your fault there were 4 pages of people assuming that those were the contract deals prior to your post.
  15. I like how everyone takes Hurl's estimates as gospel. I don't think we actually know the terms yet.
  16. http://wp.usatodaysports.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/2013/10/gronkdance2_original_original.gif Me after winning yet ANOTHER debate on the Blue Jays Message Board™
  17. I prefer my ladies at the bar analogy.
  18. The Sheriff knows his stuff and Atkins agreeing with me proves it. Take the L fellas.
  19. It's hard to sign players like this who are comfortable with 400-450 AB roles like this. They either sign for non contenders who can guarantee them starting roles or they sign for the premier franchises like the Yankees or Dodgers. It's a great fit and I'm excited we signed him. But based on Jimbo's scientific poll 80% of this board are dummies who would prefer Bellinger and his .260 OBP for some unknown reason.
  20. I think most good looking guys hit their peak physical attractiveness in their mid 30s so KK is entering his prime years in that regard. On top of it he's upgrading his uniforms. So MLB's best looking player in MLB's best unis is a perfect match. The ladies and gay men are going to have a great summer at the ballpark this year.
  21. What is with you and race anyway? Why would that matter?
  22. Nice for a situation like this to work in our favor for once.
  23. Yeah I agree. I would say a push this year. Upgraded two weaknesses and subtracted from a strength. But Swanson has two more additional years plus we picked up a prospect so I think the deals work in our favor.
