  1. Based on Atkins’ comments it sounds like they wanted two left handed OF bats. So I could see Conforto, Gallo or Brantley signing as well. So KK can sit against his fair share of lefties and then if he gets hurt we’ll have someone to soak up extra ABs.
  2. I’d like to take a bow on behalf of the small minority of us who actually know what we are talking about. It took a lot of courage to stand up for the right thing this offseason. Cheers guys.
  3. Wow the guy is a team player too?
  4. https://media.tenor.com/HuKTwW7kDj8AAAAC/kevin-kiermaier.gif MRW Ross Atkins follows my advice and signs an elite defensive CF with dreamy good looks instead of that stoner Cody Bellinger and his .260 OBP
  5. Matt Strahm got double that amount. KK is definitely getting more than that.
  6. Bellinger Fanboys coping so hard already lol. They would have no problem with his .260 OBP in the lineup everyday yet consider KK as only an upgrade over our 5th OF last year in Zimmer. So glad Ross Atkins is running things here and does not care what the fans think at all.
  7. Mark down another W for The Sheriff. I tried telling all you Bellinger Fanboys that this would be the direction we’d go but none of you would listen.
  8. Lol how long have you been following baseball exactly? This is what the Yankees do.
  9. Vlad seems like the guy to extend to me but he's already making big money now. He's projected to get 15 Mil and it's only going up from there. Barring catastrophic injury he's already going to get somewhere near 55 million or so and will enter Free Agency as a 27 year old. If the market holds he could easily get a 10 year deal then.
  10. Bogaerts could quite easily be a below average player entering his age 36 season at which point he will still have 5 years and over 127 Million left on his deal.
  11. Pretty good week at the office
  12. Nothing really new here but I didn't see the 6 years 23 Mil per number thrown around yet. That's 138 total. That certainly carries a lot of sticker shock but in this market it's not that bad for a guy who projects to be slightly better than Bogaerts does next year.
  13. I'd be game for that.
  14. From what little I've been able to gather on their defense, Barger has a "plus-plus arm" (according to a 2019 fangraphs article) which will help but Lopez does not which hurts.
  15. Good point but one of them isn't on the team anymore and the other is going to start the year in the minors. Their infield is a mess right now and I think Espinal is cute enough that Kim might pull the trigger one more time.
  16. The Marlins pay out the nose for guys like Espinal and we have several players on the roster that project similarly or better, even at SS.
  17. 7 mil a year is damn near free in this market and on a per game basis Espinal barely projects higher than Diaz. And Espinal isn't garbage but we seemingly do grow these guys on trees. The team seems to prefer Merrifield to him and Barger projects better than Espinal too. Otto Lopez projects similarly too and can also handle SS in a pinch. And then there is board favorite Craig Biggio's son. I wouldn't give Espinal away and he is great depth, something the team should constantly strive to have. But if we are hesitant to make FA signings in this market I think he's a guy we could def look to trade.
  18. Does Ross Atkins even care about signing them to 10 year deals? The odds of him being around 10 years from now are pretty low given the nature of the business and it'd be a couple of feathers in his cap in the short term.
  19. All joking aside it's a perfect time to sell on Espinal IMO. He's a slow slap hitter whose value is in his defense and not striking out. But he also has a weak arm so is best suited for 2B. With Whit, Craig Biggio's son, Barger and others on the team he's also completely expendable. Jays should def look to move him.
  20. We all know that Kim likes her cute slap hitting infielders as she gave up Adam Cimber and Corey Dickerson for Joe Panik (lmao) and then also gave up Bass and Pop for Groshans. The question is, is Espinal cute enough for her?
  21. Seems like Lopez is the guy they'd move bc he only has 2 years of control left and they are cheap. They would no doubt want Kirk or Moreno for the same reasons but I wonder if Jansen and Espinal would get it done for Lopez. I posted a trade earlier where we also chip in Macko and Richards and get Sanchez who has a good batted ball profile which the Jays FO loves. There's got to be something there we could work out.
  22. Bo has to be licking his chops after seeing these SS signings. But if the Jays backed the truck up with a Riley-like extension for 200+ he'd def have to consider it.
  23. Austin Riley seems like a decent comp for both. Steamer projects Bo and Riley to be worth about 4.5 WAR moving forward and Vlad to be worth 5.5 WAR. Riley signed for 10 years, 210 mil and had 3 years of control left. Both Bo and Vlad have 3 years of control left too. Riley is on a similar track to Bo arb wise, both will be making around 4ish million through arb at the time of the extension and both will be 25. Vlad is a little bit different though in that he makes big bucks in arbitration already and is a year younger.
