  1. Good outing by Thompson. Got 5 swing and misses that inning which is probably approaching a record for him. He needed that.
  2. This is the guy Schneider just HAD to get into the game over Gausman in the playoffs last year. I hate Mayza and hope they cut him. I can't stand seeing his stupid face on my TV.
  3. Richards also has reverse splits so he's tougher on lefties despite throwing right handed. Lefties have a tough time getting extra bases off of him. For a team short on LHP in the pen that gives him slightly more value to us as well.
  4. JaysAllMighty loves watching the same amount of baseball only with 30 extra minutes of guys adjusting their jockstraps.
  5. Really liking Sportsnet's way of presenting the pitch clock. They don't even show it until it gets to 6 seconds and it's a small part of the scorebug. You don't even notice it or the overall change that much. It was dumb of MLB to have the first game showing it with a GIANT clock counting down right behind the batter. It was so jarring that it spooked a lot of fans. Add in the fact that it had a major impact with the count full and the bases loaded in the 9th and it was a pretty bad debut. In the end it won't really matter but I think the way Sportsnet is handling it is a good way for all broadcasts to do it.
  6. Zack Cook has some GOGGLES. He might be more blind than Jansen.
  7. Well he can't say he doesn't like the depth. "I hate our pitching depth. Mitch White has no stuff and Thompson is trash."
  8. Call him up. He's ready.
  9. Tiedeman just mowed them down. He's ready.
  10. You forgot Jackson
  11. I really like their offseason. They added Renfroe, Drury, Urshela and Phillips to the lineup/bench along with O'Hoppe at last year's deadline. Add in Rendon who gave them nothing last year and that's going to be a colossal improvement with basically 6 guys being added to last year's lineup/bench. In most of those cases those 6 will be replacing negative WAR players. On the pitching side they added Tyler Anderson (coming off a 4 WAR season) and a couple of mid bullpen pieces in Estevez and Matt Moore. Altogether, that's a TON of additions in one offseason. As for the rotation depth don't forget Jose Suarez who is a legit backend rotation piece too so 1-5 they are pretty solid. They've also got some decent depth with Tucker Davidson (probably the last guy in their 6 man rotation) Silseth, Chris Rodriguez, Griffin Canning, and others in AAA and AA who could give them something. That won't really "wow" anyone but if you compare it to the depth around the league it's probably better than most. They are definitely WC contenders.
  12. And now he likely never will. Drop him.
  13. Yeah I've though of him a couple of times during all this pitch clock talk.
  14. He wanted to outright pick the Reds to win the WS but it was too bold. So instead he had to come up with a more realistic scenario in which they can win it all in an abbreviated season.
  15. Hit 2 home runs off AAA pitchers in Spring Training and then got cut from Scranton midseason. Not even sure he's in professional baseball anymore.
  16. You won't miss either but Strasburg seems done. Paxton a remote chance to be useful again. I guess.
  17. By the time Tabler got done with his physical description of the batter an entire 5 pitch AB could be over. "Just look at this guy." Strike 1. "He's got biiiiig....giant forearms." Strike 2. "And biiiiig....broaaaaad shoulders." Ball 1. "And look at his back, Buck. He's stroooooong." Foul ball. "This guy just looks like a professional..." Ground ball to second thrown out at first. "....hitter."
  18. Maybe they could just turn the pitch clock off in the 9th inning if the score is within 3 runs or something
  19. I'm going with Zips. Orelvis is the #5 prospect in baseball. Extend him.
  20. The thing is if he was in high A he would have dominated and everyone would have been on his nuts and kept him in their Top 100. Well the Jays pushed him and he understandably had some mixed results that came with being the youngest player in AA. He's getting dinged too much for playing in an advanced league.
  21. I agree with that as well. But that's not what Brownie is saying. He also adds that he thinks all Domincans go home and eat like crap and "f*** around on the sandlot." lol
  22. Wow both of his homers in that clip are insane for a 20 year old. The first one was a laser to dead center that EASILY cleared the fence. The second one was a bomb that the camera couldn't even track.
  23. Ok well then you agree with me. The season including Spring Training is about 7.5 months. Even you Mr. Robot Baseball thinks they should get a few months off. Well there's only 4.5 months left in a year so a few months of rest basically eats that up by the time they get to ST.
