    Crazy to call a game when the rain has stopped for a few hours, especially when it's a 1-run game with 4 innings left. Royals have a s*** pen as it is and it was taxed. Now they get the W and a full day's rest for the pen heading into Detroit. Very lucky.

    I thought typing this out would be fun and interesting but it was just depressing lol. We did win the back to backs but I know we had some good teams that came up just short prior to that too. '85 team won 99 games and blew a 3-1 ALCS lead to the '91 win Royals. The '87 team lost their last 7 games in a row, including 4 of them to the Tigers who ended up winning the division by one game.

    Was a young kid for 92-93 but I love looking at the old teams between then and 2015 from time to time. We were never really that good and never really that bad but there were some interesting teams. A lot of it, like 2009 was just bad timing. 1998- Good team but we had just moved on from Alomar and Olerud in preceding years. Hang on to those two and we are in business that year. 2000- hit 244 homers, 5th all-time at that point, but the pitching sucked. Halladay broke out the next season. 2006- The Gibby/Riccardi years were mostly good but we had no starting pitching depth and Josh Towers went 2-10 to set some sort of record after being good the year prior. 2008- 4th in run differential in MLB but underperformed our pytho win/loss by 7 games and finished 4th in the division lol. 2010- Good team but traded away Halladay the year before, as already mentioned. 2015- best in baseball but the lucky ass Royals beat us. 2016- team made it to the ALCS. 2021-2023- missed the playoffs by 1 game, and then we have the past two years.

    It's a 1 run game but just call this damn game and end this ******** series already so we can get ready for the Dodgers tomorrow

    Catchers are so flipping weird. Kirk a sad example (though his book isn't written yet!). But Jansen is a great example. 16th round pick and looked like a nobody his first 4 years in pro ball. Suddenly he explodes in his 5th year and he's a hot name to know as a bat first catching prospect with major concerns about his defense. Gets the call and he's actually a defensive whiz that can't hit. After 3 or 4 years he's settled in as a solid all round C, both bat and defense. Weird career arc.

    Vlad and Bo are just killing us right now. If Bo gets on we've got a run already and the big inning is possible. But he hits a 1 pitch ground out and now we have to string multiple hits together to get a single run. Frustrating.

    Get Biggio in the game. He will at least waste some time by seeing 5 or 6 pitches before striking out looking.

    Doesn't sound like he'll be out too long. In the meantime if someone gets hurt it will be Trevor Richards SZN.

    The SP depth went from looking okay to a steaming pile in 3 weeks. We need everyone to hold up until the ASB.

    Yeah he should be fine. April is by far his worst month and he's traditionally a slow starter. Better 2nd half player.

    Yeah we win today and it's a 4-3 road trip and we can feel pretty decent despite pissing two games away. Lose today and Masturbator (only a sick and depraved individual would name himself after a disgusting sex act), jays24 and the other debbie downers of the board will be running wild all over the board today.

    Definitely. But don't let the AA Fanboys tell you any different. Nearly 10 years after he left they still post about him daily. He extended every good young player on his team, but he would have deftly avoided doing that with Vlad before he turned into a pumpkin because they just know he would.

    The same AA Fanboys who worship him daily on the board would be cursing his name as they watch Vlad struggle in the middle of a 12 year extension right now. And anyway, it's all moot as AA clearly learned a lot during his time with the Dodgers under Friedman. He'd be a different GM if he never did that and stuck it out here.

    That's not the question though. Why does everyone who has negative takes claim they are a "realist"? No one who thinks that this team is a Wild Card team and remains relatively positive feels the need to call themselves "realists".
