  1. I know the AA Fanboys love to think about what could have been if he were our GM still but just imagine it. Vlad would be in year 3 of a 12 year 285 million dollar extension.
  2. I too would like an apology. In fact he owes us all one. We know he makes enough to spring for the Swiss Chalet gift cards for the entire board.
  3. That was really close, poor Kirk almost had himself a 315 foot homer lol
  4. If they get their pitching back on track maybe we could trade them Horwitz and Craig Biggio's son for some rotation depth.
  5. Yeah they do not look good. The pitching has been wrecked by injuries. They are one of the few teams with the depth to weather it but they are going through some growing pains trying to get the right young guys in place. On top of it the lineup has major depth issues. The bottom third sucks as does their entire bench outside of Dubon who is a fine UT player and nothing more. Can't believe they walked into 2024 with Jon Singleton as Abreu's backup. Not much to pull from AAA either. If one of their core regulars got an injury they could be in some deep s***.
  6. Biggio's playing time is surrounded on all sides with viable options at both the big league and AAA level. His .424 BABIP is pumping up his .293 xwOBA to make the casuals think he's good again but it seems like the walls might be narrowing in (finally). Could our long national nightmare finally be over? Could it finally be the year he gets cut loose? I will continue to pray that Ross Atkins finds the strength to do the right thing. Even if his father is a former Hall of Fame player.
  7. I haven't received my marching orders from Captain Spanky yet, but I presume that Team Not Panicking is in an official HOLD position when it comes to Vlad stocks. You all can write him off if you want, but he's got a 118 wRC+ right now and if he had one hot week he'd shoot up to the 140+ range where we all want him to be. Generational superstar is looking less likely, but I have a feeling that Team Not Panicking will be once again feeling good about our position in light of all this non-tender talk.
  8. Offense is down across the board this year quite a bit. I think it usually is in April but it's even more so this year. Take Vlad Jr., for example. Last year he hit .264/.345/.444 for a wRC+ of 118. He's slashing .230/.350/.368 this year and he's got the same wRC+. Manfred is probably screwing with the balls again.
  9. Agree on all this. The defense is so key and doesn't get enough credit. It's so easy for the losers and haters to sit in their mom's basement and tweet about how Atkins couldn't add any offense this offseason. But it never crosses their minds that Gausman remains an ace into his mid 30s, Kikuchi and Berrios had major bounce back seasons and that Bassitt threw 200 innings for the first time in his career at age 34. If you start adding a bunch of Tommy Pham's to the lineup it's going to have an affect on the pitching and how you perceive it.
  10. The Jays would literally be undefeated against that schedule
  11. The Brewers are projected to finish with 84 wins. The Red Sox are projected to go about .500 and so are the Twins. Everyone else is projected to have a losing record.
  12. Yeah the 0.85 is ludicrous but it seems like he's earned his 3.36 FIP. XFIP and xERA are lower but still solid. Probably settles in for a season like last year which will work.
  13. Meanwhile, Team Not Panicking continues to have a fantastic month of Blue Jays baseball. Just a really fun couple of weeks after watching the haters and losers panic after one bad road trip. Feels good to be vindicated this early. I thought it might take another week.
  14. Lol so I tune in for some post game chatter and I see that the board idiots are calling for a change at CL after another win
  15. Great inning by the lineup. Vlad and Bo had better gameplans and ABs there
  16. Nevermind we are hanging a crooked number on them this inning
  17. This game is going to be a low scoring butt clencher
  18. I think they should just ride Yariel as much as they can while (1) he's hot and (2) still has innings available to give to the team. If they jerk him out of the rotation and put him into the bullpen, it could affect his performance some. But if Yariel can get us to the trade deadline, or at least close to it, then we can either move to Manoah or make a trade when Yariel hits his innings limit.
  19. My god have the Orioles had an easy schedule to this point. May toughens up a little bit for them but it will take until June until they see a hard patch of games.
  20. Any collection of extreme max velo types (Strider), 40 year olds (Morton), guys with lengthy injury pasts (Fried and Sale) and converted relievers (Lopez) are going to have an elevated injury risk.
  21. Yeah I could see Francis being optioned to keep him stretched out as a depth starter.
  22. You love to see it.
  23. Yeah we had something like 10 names that were mildly interesting or better entering the year. Bad: -Two fringe MLB guys in White and Parsons bared their ass and are no longer on the team. -Tiedemann looks to be seriously hurt. -Chad Dallas sucks. Meh: -Francis has shown good stuff but got hit hard. -Manoah looks to be in better shape and his most recent start was promising but he's looked like pooh otherwise. Good: -Yariel looks legit. -Not a perfect start by any means but the 1-4 look strong moving forward. That in itself is depth. -Adam Macko is off to a good start. Also, the plethora of infield bench players is panning out at both the big league (Schneider, Clement) and AAA (Orelvis, Horwitz, etc.) levels. We could make a trade to shore up some pitching depth if it comes to it. Heck, we might HAVE to make a trade.
  24. Yeah they definitely want to limit Yariel's innings. He's barely pitched the past couple of years. So it all makes sense but Manoah still scares the s*** out of me.
