  1. Cy Manoah is back and the Jays rotation is going to be STACKED
  2. Manoah has 10 Ks and 0 ER through 5 innings now. Just 2 walks and 1 hit. Lukes is 3-3 with a 2B off Skenes.
  3. Holy s*** Manoah is going toe to toe with Paul Skenes right now. 7 Ks and 1 walk through 4 scoreless innings. He's ready.
  4. Huge game today which will determine if we end the month of April with a winning record or not. It really does feel like a must win for all the haters and losers who collectively make up the Debbie Downers of the board. It's going to be really hard for them to cry and whine about the "ship is sinking" while we sit in the thick of contention with a winning record despite all hell breaking lose to start the season. Team Not Panicking has a little bit of time left so not quite as must win for us.
  5. Adam Macko just turned 23 and is running a 3.20 FIP in AA. Call him up Mariners-style. He's ready.
  6. I think we are okay. 3 off days in the next 10 days after not having one for ~2 weeks will help. Yariel is probably nicked up but with all the off days coming up this IL stint is likely IP management as much as anything. I don't think he or Francis are injured that bad and both seem to be decent enough bulk pitcher guys who should be back soon. I suppose the team might thrust Manoah into the rotation but they wouldn't necessarily have to.
  7. Manoah vs. Skenes tonight in AAA. Do you believe in miracles?
  8. Well Jim it looks like I've got some more work to do then
  9. Facing a lefty and Biggio is STILL in the lineup. The guy could literally shoot someone in the middle of Yonge St. and he still wouldn't get benched.
  10. That is true. I believe the great Orgfiller said it best that no one plays better than Biggio does when he's on the verge of losing his spot in the lineup.
  11. It's nice to finally get some vindication. I fought the Biggio Fanboys for YEARS and now the board consensus is that he sucks. I know the jerks on this board aren't big on apologies but I feel like I deserve a few.
  12. His defense has been atrocious. He does not look comfortable at all out there. Is it because he actually sucks at defense or is it because he's got a bit of the deer in the headlights experience going on? Seems like that might be affecting his ABs too. He can hit the ball hard but he's taking some really aggressive hacks out there. I don't mind playing him some more but they should play Schneider full time, bench Biggio and put Barger in a platoon with Clement.
  13. Going to print this out and frame it
  14. "He was a big guy behind the plate. Could really take a beating with his size and toughness back there and he redefined the position by showing that big guys can play the position well. In addition to all the hardware and stats (Top 3 all-time for homers and RBI for Catchers!), his leadership skills and the way he handled a staff was indispensable for that small market Royals team that made back to back WS and won it in 2015. Just a great overall ballplayer." Every time he takes a foul ball off his mask or something you hear the announcer say something similar and that will get thrown in to his HoF pitch.
  15. He obviously shouldn't even sniff it but Sal Perez has a chance at the HoF. WS winner WS MVP 8x All-Star 5x Gold Glove Winner 4x Silver Slugger His trad stats will look good too 300+ homers 1000+ RBI .260+ average Dinosaur sports writers are foaming at the mouth to elect this guy. Might not be enough of them anymore but the veteran's committee will also be foaming at the mouth.
  16. Vlad crushed the ball today. I have it on good authority that Don Mattingly has found the backup tape from his 1985 MVP season (the footage was long thought to have been lost forever after a NYC warehouse fire in the late 1980s) and they have been watching the highlights together. Everyone here better be very careful because I am keeping a watchful eye on this thread. Just saying.
  17. Vlad pulled two line drives with EVs of 112 and 114 mph after my post today. Just saying.
  18. Ben Shulman was pretty good on the mic tonight I thought. So was Siddall.
  19. Barger did him zero favors in that first inning. I think this first year is going to be somewhat of an adventure with having not pitched last year and throwing in relief in Japan the year prior anyway. But the Stuff models really like him and so does Steamer. Masturbator (disgusting username btw) is right that the #5 will become an issue at some point with his innings limit. He looks good enough to make it to the ASB at which point we can trade for one if we have to.
  20. Pitch 5 was the awful called strike I don't know if I've ever seen one worse than that
  21. lol that was one of the worst strike calls I've ever seen
  22. Barger's AB's have been better than his fielding He doesn't have a hit but he hits the ball hard pretty often
