  1. Rowley will become a dominant fixture in the Jays' rotation then will get sent over to North Korea by Trump.
  2. I feel so ripped off. If you had at least filled your article with Google Ads and Amazon product links I could have come away from that knowing that you were just trying to spam for cheap hits. But since this mediocre body of work came with no attempt at monetization, I feel like you have wasted my time with absolutely no purpose. If you're going to make a junk site, at least go all out and make it all spammy looking and earn your $100 a month.
  3. So is there any chance we see Borucki in September if Sanchez doesn't return? Just started AA which means he would be rushed. But he's also 23 so not that young and a late pick so it's not like the team has invested a lot in him. Might be good to try to catch lightning in a bottle while there is lightning to be caught like they did with Hutchison. He projects a 5 ERA/FIP which is not going to be any worse than Valdez or whatever scrap heap pitcher they use to fill out #5 otherwise.
  4. To bring up a week old topic, San Diego has to be the city with the worst North American pro sports history. The Padres are the worst MLB team of all time and suck now. The Chargers mostly sucked and the city lost them. The Clippers really sucked and they lost them too. Can't think of a city with a more s***** history than that. Vancouver comes pretty close. So does Seattle, Washington and pre-Lebron 2.0/Francona era Cleveland. Unfortunately Toronto would be pretty high up on that list as well. Kind of like Washington and Cleveland...s***** for a long, long time but it's gotten better the last couple of years.
  5. That's probably a smart move and I understand why they are doing it. Earlier in the year he was considered a spot starter. He's probably a permanent fixture in the rotation for the rest of this year and maybe in 2018. The Jays pen can't afford another couple of starts of guaranteed 3-4 innings so get him 100% right in the minors.
  6. We'll throw in Goins for Segura then just to make it more even and that will solve Seattle's problem of riding Tulo's expensive ass on the bench.
  7. Tulowitzki for Hernandez. Everybody's problems are solved.
  8. Let's not forget that some people wanted the Jays to dump Estrada for some d-rate prospect with a 0.01% chance of ever contributing to this club years down the road so we could have Valdez and the guy directly below him in the depth chart pitching 40% of the games. 60% if Sanchez's blisters costs him the rest of 2017.
  9. I like how the Astros #9 hitter has a higher OPS than the entire Jays lineup save Smoak. EDIT: And Refsnyder after 8 PAs
  10. Imagine the outrage if BLM and Twitter existed back in those days. Black man gets arrested for killing white bird.
  11. I'd rather have a player with 5 HR potential with good defense, a .350+ OBP and some speed. The Jays have/have had enough players with 20-30 HR potential and not much else on their roster over the years.
  12. No way they let Carrera walk for nothing. He either gets arb or traded.
  13. Carrera has the physical ability to play the OF...he's just stupid. Perhaps that can be fixed. Pearce should not be in the OF at all. Carrera is also having a breakout season, by his standards. It might be worth it to keep him around in case he's another late bloomer type. Note that there's only a 20 point difference in OBP between Pearce's "bad" season and Carrera's "breakout" season. So one would have to assume that will continue which is not guaranteed just for Carrera to have a marginal advantage at the plate. Carrera is younger though. It's not the play of Carrera nor Pearce that is ailing this team and playing one over the other isn't going to be the difference maker. Ideally you have Carrera playing as the 4th OF and Pearce as DH/PH with both being very good bench options but this team is not built to make that possible. Trading one over the other really depends on which player nets a better return. I'd be pretty indifferent in who gets jettisoned, assuming equal value back.
  14. Are you crazy? This is the best I mean the BEST TIME EVER to be a team located in Canada. It's never going to get any more favourable than this. Someone please give Trump a Japanese flag to use as a napkin after a hearty lasagna meal.
  15. I'm of the opinion if the Jays have the ability to turn someone like Sparkman into a serviceable reliever, they can turn anyone into a serviceable reliever, including those who cost nothing, not even a rental player.
  16. I want the Jays to take the side of market efficiency. If the price for retirement home talent is a PTBNL, you might as well keep all of yours and go fishing for others. Flip it around, if someone like Lucroy goes for DJ Davis' bastardized clone now, you might as well trade your DJ Davis for the rental. Unless the mystery player turns out to be a legit prospect, the Rockies got an absolute steal. Even if Lucroy continues to suck ass below his projections it was still worth a shot.
  17. With Lucroy going for a player to be named later, the contracts of EE and JB etc, I bet the MLBPA is s***ing its pants right now. With the Morenos and Amaros of the world gone, no one is willing to pay anything for players on the wrong side of 30. Whether that's in contracts or prospect capital. At this pace Donaldson might not even get a $100M contract when his time comes.
  18. Or use the money saved to get other players who can provide more than half a WAR value for $25M. You seem to have this strange obsession with getting "value" out of everyone. You're not the only one by any means so I'm not trying to single you out. Look if there's no trade to be had for Estrada and he walks (or retires) next year, that's just the way the cookie crumbles. Whatever marginal returns Lucroy got, Estrada is getting less than that. The Jays already got value out of Liriano, picking up two prospects for a salary dump and holding down the Orioles long enough for Showalter to f*** up game #163.
  19. In a world where Lucroy nets a PTBNL, the Jays are better off as buyers than sellers anyways.
  20. Ryan Tepera has done pretty well this year. So has Joe Smith and Dominic Leone. Lots of opportunity to swing a trade for someone in need of a BP piece and not even have to move Osuna.
  21. Glad to see someone is actually using their brain cells today.
  22. Are you part of Rogers' accounting division? Who cares if the Jays save some salary this year (unless it's strategically used somewhere else this year). It's not like saving $3M this year will mean $3M more in next year's budget.
  23. Oh boo-f***ing-hoo they have the best NBA team in the world to share with their richer, whiter and gayer twin city.
  24. 4 games against the A's 4-0, +10 run differential. One loss to Cleveland -10 run differential. The Jays are going to be last year's Rangers!
