  1. Alright boys we need to start pumping my stocks. Owning a sports team/Jays is on my bucket list.
  2. Lucky you....
  3. I approve of this comment. Mods un-ban Cleveland Steamer pls this is right up his alley.
  4. "Not sad" is not equivalent to "want". Me agreeing with Jim should automatically be seen with a raised eyebrow. And obviously in any trade scenario I'd like to see a fair return. Holy f*** the things you have disclose on here as part of your message. Common sense cannot be assumed to be a trait held by all people who post here.
  5. Brett Lawrie was far more tolerable to me. Maybe because he is white and I am secretly racist and give white people far more leeway than whatever the hell type of darkie Stroman is. Or maybe because I can identify with Lawrie's type of douchebaggery, like making fun of fat people, bullying, and "accidentally" assaulting umps while I cannot identify with Stroman's.
  6. Are you f***ing stupid? Goins led this team in RBI for 9/10ths of this season on 400 AB. Awesome TV stats and Pat Tabler influence and clutch.
  7. I was sad to see Goins go until I saw this awful video. Now I'm glad his wigger or half-wigger ass is being shipped the hell out. Stroman is stupid as f***. Shut the hell up and pitch and don't use Twitter to air your grievances. Did he seriously not know that Goins was at least a candidate to not be tendered? This is really a shock to him that needed pre-announcement? Stroman's tweet is turning me into jimcanuck. f*** it, punt 2018. Trade him and Donaldson and start fresh. If the Jays traded Stroman I would be....not sad. That's not how a fan should be reacting to the shipping out of the team's best pitcher.
  8. I get your point but I think that's a dangerous generalization. There is more than one way for people to hold power over others than just brute strength. Imagine if Hillary Clinton tried to proposition you? You'd be disgusted in every way possible and also terrified of the consequences if you did not comply.
  9. Great move by the Giants assuming it gets done to become an 80 win team overnight in arguably baseball's toughest division right now. By the time things clear out on the top a bit, Stanton will conveniently be on the down trend of his career.
  10. I'm going to buy a ticket to his first game in a Jays uniform just to prove all you f***s wrong. Can't you take my brainstorming nonsense of thinking up of reasons to trade for Nick Markakis in stride?
  11. I get this idea. Prospect mining as some people already suggested. He'd be an improvement over what Bautista provided last year. And he has a recognized name in the AL East that the front office could window dress as trying to contend to casuals.
  12. Gruber was right. Two front offices obviously know much more than all of you do. It's about time all of you saps let go of this four year long grudge against Gruber that you have been losing and make an apology/Gruber was right thread and line up one-by-one to kiss his ass. The day you do this is the day Ryan Goins gets released. Until then, enjoy! I like clutch players who consistently drive in RBI in late game situations so I have nothing against this. Rajai Davis and Goins need their own spot on the Wall of Excellence beside Joe Carter.
  13. Make Trudeau useful and send him on a plane to Japan to do some top notch ass-kissing.
  14. I was hoping that time would heal all wounds. But I suppose not. I blame this all on Bonds. He looked f***ing ridiculous. Way overboard and totally unnecessary given the trajectory his career was already on. Ruined it for everyone else who was smart enough to sweep it under the rug. Still belongs in the HOF though. Interesting the competing narratives we see in this thread. Baseball is an old man's sport that kids don't watch....and yet many kids were influenced by baseball players using steroids.
  15. That's ********. Ok, Dave Winfield is not exactly poor (or he shouldn't be if he managed his money), but he would be 10 times richer if he was born a generation later with the same talent. Getting into the HOF is an incredible personal achievement and it should give you some privileges, including which cap you will wear on the plaque. If you wish to sell that right, it should be within your powers to do so. As long as you played for that team. Choosing a Padres cap is not even an egregious choice....like WTF he wants to be just another Yankee in there? Especially since he wasn't treated well by Steinbrenner. The Padres are a logical choice for him money or not. I get it, they don't want really egregious choices like Boggs with the Rays...but still this HOF situation has already become a real embarrassing farce as it stands right now. Let the players choose and if there is a cash reward for it well that's their choice.
  16. I love the comment section too. About 80-90% in favour of keeping the "cheaters" out and those comments are getting about 75% thumbs up. Who are these baseball fans with such a stick up their ass? I mean, are there really that many 60+ year olds who have now figured out how to access the internet?
  17. This tool bag knows that because of the Doc thread he's getting more rope from the mods and people posting here than he normally would so he's acting like even more of a tool bag than usual. The tone of his posts don't bug me. Don't like it, just skip over it. It's the volume that is a piss off. Whole pages of certain threads are dedicated to his nonsense now.
  18. Please, please, please let this man play in one game this year. I want to see Buck get a seizure trying to say his name.
  19. It's not my fault your people all look the same to me.
  20. Even when I don't try to troll the board, I still troll the board
  21. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_North_American_cities_by_population List of North American cities by population: 1. Mexico City 8,918,653 2. New York City 8,550,405 3. Los Angeles 3,971,883 4. Toronto 2,826,498 5. Chicago 2,720,546 6. Houston 2,296,224 Posting this in case any of these Canadians with an inferiority complex in here need reminding of what a large market city looks like. How many cities in Japan can I name? Hmm let's see...Tokyo, Osaka....and Seoul. The point being to a Japanese person, Toronto IS a large U.S. city as far as they are concerned. If you want to say you don't want to get your hopes up on the Jays signing him, that's fine. It's only 1/30 or 3.3% chance. Meaning a 96.7% chance the Jays fail to get him. But enough with the lame excuses. Realistically the Jays are in the top 10 of teams with a shot, if not the top 5. Kansas City and Tampa have no chance. The Jays do.
  22. This seems like a very bad idea. Did they not just learn from Miami?
  23. This is just...such a weird thing to think about. This is Halladay's kid and baseball. Not George Bush Jr. and the country of Iraq. He may have the goal of winning the World Series...but specifically with the Jays? Like, he's going to go through hoops to specifically have unfinished business settled in Toronto. It makes no sense, man. This is purely sentimental fan-speak. If he makes it to the majors he will be happy to do so with whatever team drafted him and the Jays shouldn't go out of their way to draft him if they believe there is a superior player available at their slot. That's if he even has enough talent and desire to become an MLB pitcher in the first place, which is an extreme longshot even with pedigree.
  24. I agree. The exact same level of vitriol has been thrown against Lawrie whenever the topic of his personality or intelligence came up. They also can't admit that they have been wrong for four years about Goins against some dude who thinks he can outrun Bautista. Just a bunch of jealous beta males on here who have to armchair quarterback everything but have no accomplishments to speak of unlike AA. Why do you think they all have to be in 15 different fantasy pools?
  25. You guys are right. Haven't even noticed that until you guys pointed that out because we're obviously focused on more important things during this tragedy. f*** Bob Elliott.
