  1. Oh wise one, please explain to me what Parsons skills are. I needs some education.
  2. Ok one of our top young prospects isn't exactly accurate, but I fail to see why Wes Parsons a 31 year old with average stuff was kept over Zuleta. Yes Zuleta was wild, but it's not like we kept the stable solid vet who can control the zone. Parsons walked 8 and hit 3 in 10.2 innings this spring..lol.
  3. I agree, but I'm not sure you would have said that prior to the game...lol.
  4. Man Kikuchi's English is pretty good.
  5. It's actually nothing like saying if it's not sunny on September 10th he's fired. That's a random event, you have no control over. As a GM you have the ability to build a winning team. Anything can happen in the playoffs, but this is Atkins 9th year. It's about setting goals, and when those goals aren't achieved you move on. Outside of the team he inherited in 2016, none of his teams have won a playoff game. The team is spending in the luxury tax now. If you don't win a single playoff game over an 8 year span, you're not doing the job. I fully expect us to win a playoff game. If things go south, you'll be here defending Atkins. Your man crush on him is a strong one.
  6. Lol..that's what I was thinking. We have relievers in the farm worth something. How is it possible Wes Parsons made the opening day roster if this is true..lol Dude hit 3 batters and walked 8 in 10.2 innings this spring and made the team! Every team has high upside prospects. Nimmala was our first round pick and has 40 professional Abs. Literally every team probably feels just as good about their first round pick or top . Bonilla was the third highest paid international free agent, so considering we used so much of our international signing money on him we better hope he's good, but most teams also probably feel positive about their top paid international free agent signing. Objectively, most people rank our system bottom third whether it's fangraphs, baseball America, Keith Law or anyone else ranking farms.
  7. I thought this was bold predictions. That's sort of what I expect from IKF..lol Springer with 40 bombs. Votto with an OPS north of .850. Blue Jays win the World Series!
  8. There are capable GMs out there. If we don't win a playoff game he's gone. If we do he's safe. It should be that simple.
  9. Shi Davidi doesn't mention the "advanced consent form" in an article on sportsnet prior to roster decisions, if they didn't ask him to sign it. I would say it's highly probable they did ask him to sign it and we have 45 days to release him.
  10. Yes, but he's going to DH and when he's killing it he's going to force turner to play some 2nd and 3rd diving for balls, thus the ice baths.
  11. The same will be true when Votto takes Vogelbach's place, but when Votto starts crushing it, Turner is going to realize he's going to have to spend a few extra days in the ice baths following games.
  12. The player has to agree though. Why would the player agree? I could see if there was no one behind you and you felt confident in your abilities, but the guy behind you is Joey fricken Votto. Vogelbach could be a month in with a respectable .780 OPS and if Votto is mashing in the minors, he's gone. I'd be very interested if he agreed to this clause. I mean Vogelbach is used to travelling around. He might just be like, I'm good where I am now. If they DFA me I'll get another job. He's probably right, but I wouldn't agree to that clause, but then again who's going to give him a job right off the hop at this point. Mike Ford got released and he put up a .798 OPS last year and in spring he hit .455/.486//.727 in 35 PA and he still got released.
  13. I'm probably over reacting. The velocity was 96.6, 95, 95.8, 95.6, 96.6, 96.3, 96.1, 94.7, 95.4, 94.3, 94.9, 94.3. 94.8. The velocity is decent, but those numbers coming from a 5'10 guy are different than coming from a 6'6 guy. I'm mostly just hoping he sucks because the Dodgers can spend so much money.
  14. They put out 375 mil. He's 5'10 and throws a mid 90s fastball and spins the ball really well. The stro show spins the ball really well with good command and his FB velocity is only a couple ticks below that. I thought he was 96 to 98. Lots of pitchers in the MLB spin it well. The dodgers could have put out 375 mil for a number 3 starter.
  15. His best full season he put up a .745 OPS. An .780 OPS is within the realm of possibility. I just wouldn't peg him for that kind of season. I said, I hope I'm wrong..lol.
  16. Don't let spring training stats fool you. I hope you're right, but you're probably not.
  17. Biggio and Schneider probably handle 3rd better than Turner at this point. IKF is the best of the lot defensively. Just let turner play 2nd from time to time.
  18. He ended the 22 season with an injury on collision with bo and then also had to have surgery to deal with the bone spurs he had been dealing with all year. You come to camp with the body not feeling completely right and you can fight it all year. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Springer had a .900 OPS season this year.
  19. John Schneider after today's game. Turner, I need you in my office. So, I need you to dust your glove off and take some reps at 2nd and 3rd this last week and a half of spring training.
  20. I was trying to find a pirated stream to watch his first AB....sad i missed it..lol
  21. Votto just made the team. Homer in his first AB vs Zack Wheeler
  22. I don't disagree with what you say, but you could understand the Yankees going this route after Tanaka. Tommy John was just a matter of time for Tanka for 6 years until he finished his contract and just avoided it completely.
  23. I'm not sure how Ernie Clement doesn't make this team. 0 Ks in 22 PA this spring. 4 Ks in 52 PA with the Jays last year. 16 Ks in 320 PA with buffalo last year.
  24. Or he's fully healthy, not coming into spring coming off an injury and surgery and puts up a .900 OPS! That's what I'm predicting.
  25. Joey Votto hit blue Jays camp at the crack of dawn this morning. Let's give him a pinch hit AB.
