  1. have no fear. We're not going to overpay anyone in free agency either. We're optimistically targeting 2022 and if that doesn't work out 2023 will surely be our year.
  2. I'm sure the Jays were in on Kluber, but they couldn't bring themselves to part with Fisher..lol
  3. so for an extra 6 mil and spare parts we could have had kluber at the top of the rotation instead of Roark. That's hilarious.
  4. There better be, Deschields who isn't very good is a free agent in 2022.
  5. he had a fracture forearm. How did Pearson bounce back from a fractured forearm? Prior to that Kluber averaged over 200 innings and a 2.84 FIP from 2014 to 2018. This deal make me sick to my stomach.
  6. nope that's it...salary dump. Where were the Jays in all of this.
  7. so we signed Roark for 2 years 24 instead getting Kluber for 2 years 35 and spare parts. We gave Cleveland Josh Donaldson for nothing. Did they not owe us?
  8. delino deschields jr and Emmanuel Clase involved in return.
  9. Hopefully the price is substantial.
  10. I see the upside in Teo. It wouldn't shock me if Teo did produce more wins than Price. I certainly wouldn't include Teo in a Price deal, but Price also put up 2.3 wins in only 107 innings pitching in less than ideal circumstances. I think price could bounce back and put up 4 wins.
  11. This is something i was advocating since before the off season started. I'm guessing the Indians asking price is quite high.
  12. You're not going to pay 32 mil for 2 wins and give something back. If the Red Sox want to eat salary and we can get him for 3 and 60 for a C prospect fine. Price pitched with a cyst that required minor surgery to repair. He actually pitched reasonably well given the fact that he was pitching in some pain. I think Price has some 4+ win season's in him. I don't think he was every really comfortable in Boston. I can't see us giving anything up though, and Boston has to eat the salary.
  13. When are we going to compete and who's going to be in the rotation? I like Ryu a tick more and would go 4 and 80. Keuchel does get a crap ton of ground balls. It's hard to judge guys when they miss spring training and get a late start. I think his walk rate improves a bit over last year. I think Keuchel can be a solid number 3 type contributor. It would be nice to get one or the other.
  14. The Prime minister doesn't have the authority to dictate what Ontario charges for income tax. The federal tax isn't the issue. It's the provincial. Ontario's marginal rates were lower 5 to 10 years ago. They have implemented tax breaks for athletes for their signing bonuses, which allows teams to manipulate things to reduce the tax. Here's the first article I found off google from RBC explaining. https://ca.rbcwealthmanagement.com/documents/17271/17295/Signing+Bonus+Planning+for+Sports+Professionals.pdf/0920cb5a-2adf-4666-a451-3659710eece8
  15. Borucki had a tough year, but in the end he had minor surgery to remove a bone spur and is expected to fully ready for spring. He increased his innings every year from 2016 to 2018 from 135 to 175. He had good command in the minors and showed quite well as a rookie. He had a pretty good spring in 2019 with an eyebrow raising uptick in velocity. Injuries robbed him of the regular season. We will see how he shows in the spring. Maybe that velocity isn't there. Regardless, I think it's a tad pre-mature to be giving up on Borucki as a starter. It's going to be interesting to see what happens at the end of spring if a couple of these young starters have good springs.
  16. https://en.yna.co.kr/view/AEN20191211006400315?section=sports/sports This article gives me hope. Ryu is a realistic option for the Jays. For goodness sake go get Ryu. Give him 4 years.
  17. He's an old out of shape shitball fly ball pitcher moving the AL east. When I saw the MLB top 50 prediction page having Roark going the Jays, I said to myself please anyone but Roark. I didn't want Porcello either, but 1 year 10 for Porcello would have been more palatable than watching 2 years of Roark.
  18. Roark is going to make the Jamie Garcia signing look like a bargain. If somehow the Jays went out and got Ryu, I could overlook this signing. I'm not holding my breath though.
  19. Yeah, but you're forgetting about the provincial surtax. The highest marginal rate in Ontario is 53.53. Ask any accountant or person who makes more than 220.
  20. https://www.ey.com/Publication/vwLUAssets/Tax-Rates-Ontario-2019/$FILE/Tax-Rates-Ontario-2019.pdf
  21. have another rum spanky...just call an uber if you have to go the store for smokes.
  22. No one wants to pay 53.53% tax. That's why we can't sign and decent f***ing pitchers.
  23. are you always drunk
  24. Yeah, his location says Toronto and I'm suppose to know he lives in Kitchener how there Mr. dumn dumn.
  25. I love Saskatoon. If I lived in Ontario my marginal tax rate would be 53.53 not 47.5. My house would cost twice as much. My commute would be much longer. I don't begrudge anyone who loves Toronto and wouldn't live anywhere else. Only an arrogant f***ing loser says an entire province sucks. Saskatchewan is awesome. f*** you.
