  1. You're a f***ing loser.
  2. Oh f*** off. All Sask is awful now. What a pathetic thing to say. You, Saskatchewan people...you....Ok Don...whatever.
  3. I was simply pointing out if we paid him more money he would have come. I'm not even advocating for Lindblom. I wanted Ryu and Wood.
  4. I'd rather gamble on Alex Wood and Salazaar. Tanner Roark..puke. 55 innings in the American league. Now we get to see 2 full seasons in the American league. He's going to have a FIP north of 5. Gross.
  5. So you're saying we traded Josh Donaldson for nothing. Everyone was hot and bothered saying Merryweather was much better than 2nd round comp pick, which I completely disagreed with. I guess the comp pick would have been better.
  6. That's ********....we could have paid him 12 mil over 3 years and he would have came to the Jays. Too much risk for their blood.
  7. Yes, but they won't. The Roark signing is basically waiving the white flag. They are saying, we have zero intention of competing over the next 2 years. We're not short on arms. Zeuch, Panonne, Murphy, Merryweather, Kay, Borucki, Reid-Foley. Our rotation is going to be Shoemaker, Anderson, Pearson in mid May, Thornton and now Roark. I fail to see how we needed to pay Roark 2 years at 12 million a year.
  8. take 12 for Roark and 9 mil a year you're paying Anderson and you could have had a decent pitcher.
  9. Brewers sign Lindblom 3 years 9.1, and we're going to pay Roark 12 mil a year. FU shatkins.
  10. What a garbage signing.
  11. Sano struck out 36.2% of the time and had a wRC+ of 137. There are guys with high strike out rates that can succeed. You need to take your walks and hit bombs. Unlike Sano, Teoscar doesn't clog up the base paths as he has speed. Teoscar doesn't even have 1100 ABs yet. There's still room for improvement in his game. I'm not saying he won't take a turn for the worse next year, I'm just not giving up on him yet.
  12. Teoscar posted a .939 OPS in the second half and he made at least some improvement defensively, not that he doesn't have a ways to go. He also had the fastest sprint speed of any blue jay regular last year. He strikes out a lot, but he walked almost 10% of the time last year. If he continues to take his walks and hits his bombs, he's actually got quite a bit upside still. He certainly doesn't belong in AAA.
  13. so pay Ryu 4 and 80. Front load it 25, 25, 15 and 15.
  14. This was really a best case scenario. Cole to the Yankees was going to happen. The fact that the market got so aggressive and they had to pay the extra money is a good thing. Judge still has 3 years of arbitration, but he's finally going to get more expensive each of the next 3 years.
  15. Okay at 5 mil that's 71%, there are teams that will take on 2 for 10. For the Jays, when you're not competing I'd rather see young arms get chances.
  16. I saw the link to the Jays. Why in the world would you pay a 37 year old Jay Happ 2 years unless he comes with a top prospect. I'd rather see Patrick Murphy and TJ Zeuch getting opportunities than Happ.
  17. Wrong question. How many world series will they win and what are they worth. The contract makes a lot more sense when you ask that one. Verlander just won the Cy Young at age 36. This deal for Cole makes zero sense for the Jays and almost every team in baseball. But for a handful of clubs like the Yankees it makes sense and they can absorb the salary and risk.
  18. who in their right mind is taking on Happ even if the Yankees eat 50 to 70% of the contract? Atkins better block Cashman's number, because he always gets talked into doing whatever Cashman wants.
  19. I'd take Price on at 3 and 60 if Boston would be willing to eat the rest.
  20. Boston looking to move Price. How much money would they have to eat before you'd be interested?
  21. This is the year for Walker. I was able to watch Walker live at coors field once which was a real treat and watched a lot of expos games, although not as many as I would have liked as not all the games were on tv back then. The guy was a ridiculously talented player.
  22. Lester's salary is 20 this year not 15 and a 10 mil buyout. Spending 45 mil on a guy who isn't going to move the needle on getting to the playoffs is option one. Option 2 is putting 45 million dollars into ryu who is a guy you could build upon in year one to give you an outside shot at being competitive year one and each year for the next 4 you would have a real pitcher who could help you build a winner around. Adding a prospect who may or may not help you win 2 or 3 years down the road should not be the mindset. We need to start putting pieces in place to compete and win.
  23. Lester at 30 mil for 1 year is a massive overpay, not 5 to 7 million. Lester isn't getting this team to the post season and if that's the goal so the whole 30 mil is a sunk cost. It's a waste of money. Put 30 mil towards a 4 year contract to Ryu. Brennan Davis is far from a can't miss prospect. 4 and 70 might land Ryu. I'd rather have Ryu for 4 years than a prospect for 30 mil
  24. 30 million dollars to acquire a prospect? I'd rather put 30 million dollars towards a quality free agent.
  25. He's the second coming of Hideki matsui. Sign him up!
