  1. Rowdy is looking fitter. I have high hopes for him this year.
  2. I agree the restrictions shouldn't be that tight. However, if it's a choice of those conditions playing in Canada or playing under looser restrictions playing in Florida, they clearly aren't worried about the virus. Shaw is brand new to the club, he's coming off a s*** year. He really shouldn't be the one complaining about making 1.48 mil for 2 to 3 months of baseball in a bubble. We ask young men and women to leave their families for 9 months heading to Afghanistan facing real danger for 100K. 2 to 3 months, depending on if you make the playoffs, for 1.48 million to play baseball in a live in luxury hotel seems like a pretty good gig. Shut your pie hole Travis.
  3. Martin might get the Johnny Olerud treatment out of necessity!
  4. A homer, a double and a single for Rowdy...and Boxy said he's not a league average hitter...pffft.
  5. bit of a personal question, don't you think.
  6. Vlad looks the same to me, but he can still put up a 900+ OPS. Just move him to first and put shaw at 3rd. Rowdy looks like he might have lost 20 though. I'm not giving up on big Rowdy just yet. Black can be slimming and deceiving. There was a 2 seconds of Rowdy in a 42 second clip. Are my eyes deceiving me or did Rowdy lose some weight? https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-get-work-toronto-summer-camp-safety-measures-place/
  7. That 10 deserves an massive assist from Baltimore....thank you very much!
  8. Vlad looks like his summer camp weight might be heavier than his spring training camp weight. Rowdy looks like he might have lost some man boobs though.
  9. I know. When I read the names I was thinking how fortunate the Jays are if those are the only ones who have tested positive.
  10. Jays haven't announced who tested positive for covid but I just noticed from the recent sportsnet article that Hector Perez, Brandon Drury, Jonathan Davis and Elvis Luciano were added to the 10 day DL retroactive to June 30th so I'm guessing those could be covid related.
  11. Big day. Getting ready to watch my Baggies. Hopefully Bilic can get the boys across the finish line. Things are getting tight. I'm pumped that concacaf is changing the qualifying. Yes, I truly believe Canada has a shot at 2022. Also hoping to see Davies and Bayern in the Champions league tourney.
  12. Who are lefty relievers on the team, who are heads and shoulders above Travis, that he shouldn't be in the mix? Travis won me my bet so I'm biased, but he's still not that old. He's had a bunch of injuries in his career and gets a fair amount of strike outs. He's not a guy you completely throw the towel in just yet.
  13. 1000 dollars to feed Boras' ego. Will he move on to Martin now? There's only 5 first rounders who haven't signed yet.
  14. Proportional income may have been lower in 1975 as you say. I'm really not sure. What about the cost? Is the proportional cost to play youth baseball significantly higher? Is there less accessibility to fields and leagues for young black american kids? I really have no idea. How many black baseball players are donating money back to youth baseball for African American kids?
  15. I'm firmly on the side that the government should allow the Jays to play in Canada, but make a decision already. What's the hold up?
  16. shi just tweeted players are being told to travel to Toronto. I guess we're going to see ball at Rogers Centre afterall! Now shi is walking those comments back. It's not a done deal afterall.
  17. Canada loses out on millions of dollars of tax if they say no. They turn away Canadian residents who pay tax in Canada and throw them to the s*** if we say no. What are the risks associated with baseball players coming in when they are tested prior to coming and when they are essentially quarantined to hotels and empty baseball stadiums? It seems like a no brainer to me.
  18. Two things have peeked my interest. Pearson's service time was number one. We now know he could pitch in game 8 and we'd get the extra year. It's obvious we need to wait the week out. The second is Austin Martin and how quick he could get to the Jays. We really need to get him signed and on the taxi squad. Even inter squad games are extremely valuable for Austin. Big league coaches and the competition would be very high. It would be great for his development. I'm super aggressive, but if he got time in this year on the taxi squad, I could see a world in which he would be playing in Toronto come July next year if he tears it up in the minors next year.
  19. At what point does the owner step in and say Dusty, you're going to sit this one out. We'll pay you. You can work from home watch the games, consult with us, help us in any way possible, but we'll see you next year.
  20. Ahh baseball talk. A reminder of how pessimistic, I mean realistic you are Jim.
  21. I remember when the oil industry was dead in the 90s. The death of the oil industry has been vastly over stated.
  22. Jim duquette and Mike Ferrin were just talking about the intrigue of the Blue Jays lineup with the young talent and streaky hitters with the addition of Nate Pearson. Grichuk and Teoscar are very streaky. Over 162 things even out, but over 60 they could put up a .600 OPS or a .900 OPS or anything in between. It's too bad we don't have expanded playoffs for this year.
  23. Don't blame me. I just thought I was calling Schilling an *******. I've never once voted NDP or Green in my life and I was labelled a tree huger for stating the obvious.
