    You'd almost think he's never played first. Moran also should have gotten to first quicker and Montoya should have taken Giles out at least one batter sooner. Lots of blame to go around.

    He hung a splitter to give up the double.....he had very good movement on a 2 seamer that resulting in an infield hit. I've seen a lot worse. Did you miss the 8th inning yesterday?

    Best case scenario is Hatch has a quick first and can get through 2. Kay is probably in line for 4 if all things go well. The good news is it sounds like Snell is only good for 3 or 4 innings.

    There is a strong possibility with a very short training camp that they weren't willing to pitch guys back to back and risk injury. With them needing hatch and Kay tomorrow, they had used Cole so that left Gaviglio, Yamaguchi, Moran and Wag. Now he could have been honest and said going into the 8th I was down to 4 garbage relievers and I wanted to puke, but backing his player and saying he's a high leverage guy was probably the right thing to say. There's a game tomorrow. Why is it you make zero posts in the first game thread and you wait until things implode in the second game before posting?
