  1. s*** ballers in your bullpen should be used when you're losing by a ton or winning by a ton. There was no reason to roll those 2 s*** ballers out in a game where you up 2. You go straight to your long man. Rodriguez should have came in and pitched 3. You want him stretched out so if Max can't make his next start it's an option. If they do consider him in 5 days he won't be available outside of maybe tomorrow. They shouldn't have sat Springer in game 3. I'm so sick of Schneider. I said multiple times last year the Jays should be engaging with Francona. Everyone said he wasn't close to coming back to managing and he likely never would, but he did come back and the Reds got him. Schneider is a terrible manager. We need a real manager.
  2. They said is it was lat soreness.....
  3. can someone go post in the fire john schneider thread so I don't have to go search for it. Seriously, up by 2. Let's role out our 2 worst relievers, not our long man...lol. what a f***tard.
  4. He's been crushing the ball so far this year, not worried about him at all.
  5. Gausman giving them 7 strong tomorrow. Max shoving Saturday. It will be the crafty veteran mr bassitt to win the series!
  6. That's literally the count you want your hitters to swing
  7. rodriguez shouldn't be shaking Kirky off.
  8. I'm pretty sure Gausman is our best pitcher not named Max. Berrios wouldn't have been my choice.
  9. You rarely face a number 5 starter on opening day...lol. Like we're facing a decent pitcher...people get too worked up.
  10. let it be known I said the Jays should sign O'neill as soon as the off season hit..lol
  11. I'm intrigued to see how Barnes' stuff looks
  12. Ok....I stand corrected..lol.....He did that just to f*** with me.
  13. He has had one decent season in which his underlying numbers were substantially less than his actual numbers suggesting he was lucky. He's had an xwoba less than .300 each of the past two seasons. He's an 8 or 9 hitter for me.
  14. That's a stupid reason to bat him cleanup. He should never bat cleanup. He should never be higher than 8th.
  15. I prefer going with an offense first team until varsho returns. Range isn't really Springer's issue anyways. It's the odd wayward throw. I think he'd be fine in center for a couple weeks.
  16. Roden is not a center fielder. He can't handle the position. Springer still can though for a few weeks. Just play George in center and Roden on the corner.
  17. I just hope our internal guys have great years and mid season we are talking about protecting his arm and limiting his innings a bit in the second half to make sure he's ready for the playoffs because we're in a playoff position mid season!
  18. I'm too lazy to look up who complained about the Scherzer signing, but whoever did can just stop. Who knows how many innings he can give us, but he's still really really good. He's the type of guy you gamble on.
  19. The problem is that if you compare Vlad to Soto you could make a case for his ask. If you compare Vlad to everyone else in baseball, it's a ridiculous ask. Soto screwed the market up. Vlad not only has to worry about injury and his own play. He has to worry about Soto's play. Soto could have a down year and put up a 5 win season and 1 year into that contract people would be saying. Ok that was stupid. Vlad could have the identical year and be like, OK. Pay me my Soto money and it won't be there. Tucker also put up close to 4 wins in half a season last year. If he has a great year that will effect Vlad's market. Take Vlad at his word that he wants to be here. If Jays win this year and they are competitive in his free agent market next year believe that you can get him where ever that market is. Taking the insane risk of his financial ask this off season made no sense.
  20. Arod did get a September call up at 18 and 150 ABs at age 19. Next year Nimmala will be 20 with 2 full years in the minors plus rookie ball the year before that. My thesis on this is based and 3 observations. 1. The kid is very physically mature for his age. 2. He had a horrendous start to his season last year and was able to make adjustments and posted a .901 OPS from June 1 onwards. That leads me to believe he does have really good talent and the development could be fast. 3. He talks his walks. Showing patience and plate discipline is important. I'm not so highly convicted that I'd bet my house on it..lol. He either kills it in the minor leagues and knocks on the door for next year or has mixed results and is a couple years away. It's just my spring training optimistic overly biased take of the day!
  21. The problem with spring training is guys are facing guys that aren't MLB pitchers and even MLB pitchers are not yet MLB ready. Sample sizes are small and mostly misleading. Still, we're here and desperate to talk about guys so one early spring training observation. Davis Schneider with 7 walks in 20 PA. That's a good sign. I hope our new hitting coach can light a fire under our offense!
  22. Nimmala will be in the MLB next year.
  23. Arjun Nimmala 1 for 3 with a double. I can't help but get excited about this kid. Physically he's really strong for his age. He just turned 19 in October. If you look back at images of Bichette when he was 19 there's no comparison. Arjun is much more physically developed at that age. This kid could blow through the minor leagues this year and be pushing for spot next year. The physical maturity is there.
