Bauer pitched against the Sox once last year giving up 2 runs on 2 solo home runs striking out 5 over 7 innings with one walk. That was the only decent team he faced. He faced the Cubs twice who finished 20th in runs scored. He faced Milwaukee 3 times, Pittsburgh twice, Detroit twice, and the Royals once.
He's obviously a very good pitcher, but where does his AAV land? I can't put him at 36. I'm not sure I can put him at 30. Somewhere between 25 and 30 over 5 years.
It seems all the big free agents are asking for the world and there just aren't a lot of spenders. Are we going to wait until the end of January before their asks come down and guys start signing?
