Definitely a nostalgic feel to the game yesterday seeing both Scherzer and Kershaw in an epic pitching matchup.
Felt the Jays had Kershaw on the ropes a couple of times in the early innings. Strung together a lot of hits (singles) but could only plate one run. As the game was moving along, just felt that one run wasn't going to be enough.
Unfortunately Jays BP collapsed in the 7th inning. Would have been nice if they could have kept it 2-1 or 3-1, though Little was erratic. Always a mistake to issue a lead-off walk the No #9 hitter. Still he's been one of the Jays best relievers this season, so give him a mulligan on this one. Some defensive blunders made a difference as well. The deflection that got by Clement, and think Bichette should have taken the guaranteed out at second base instead of going home throwing off balanced like he did.
Otherwise, the game definitely had an October feel to it. Both teams were locked in neck and neck for the first 6-7 innings. Tough loss, but can't win every game.
