  1. This Jays front office seems to place security at the forefront when making deals or FA signings. For example, signing Happ & Estrada early last offseason to shore up the rotation rather then waiting on other names in December; resigning Justin Smoak if EE departs as a FA; trade for Melvin Upton Jr with Saunders & Bautista FA's etc. It seems like they always want to have positions filled regardless. So it wouldn't shock me if they brought back Loup, given that Cecil is a FA. I don't mind them tendering Barney a contract. He's been a valuable utility infielder and is better than Ryan Goins. Carrera will probably be back based on what he has done at the end of the season and as a 4th outfielder, he isn't that bad I suppose.
  2. I'd rather trade for Ender Inciarte instead of signing Reddick.
  3. The Tigers offensively are as good as anyone in baseball when healthy. It's a similar lineup to the Jays when you think of it (veterans, heavily right-handed power bats). Their pitching after Verlander & Fulmer isn't anything special and their bullpen isn't lights out. Still, they should be a threat in the AL Central next year.
  4. Rotation should be fine like you said. Sanchez, Stroman, Happ, Estrada, Liriano is a very deep rotation. All they would have to focus on is maybe adding some depth behind them, in case someone gets injured. I'd say bringing back EE could be scary, unless he runs off a David Ortiz type career into his late 30's. Though you don't want to tie in 25M per season to strictly an aging DH type player. Just look at Pujols with the Angels over the last several years. EE easily gets a 4 or 5 year deal, around 25M each season. Bautista on the other hand might take a one-year contract worth 15-18M to rebuild his value, and I'd have no problem bringing him back under those conditions as a DH.
  5. I'd rather the Jays lock up Donaldson to an extension and maybe trade for Joey Votto, if they let EE and JB walk. Donaldson has been one of the best players in baseball the past 4 seasons. The later years of his contract might not be worth it, though if he could stay healthy and play like Adrian Beltre into his late 30's, that would be ideal and what you'd have to bank on. Votto gives this lineup a left-handed middle-of-the-order bat who plays 1B. You could even bring back Bautista as a DH on a 1-year deal + option if he's looking to rebuild value.
  6. People list luxury suite tickets on StubHub? So how would that work? You'd be in a suite with people that are complete strangers?
  7. I would have sold my ticket for face value to any frequent poster on here that I know. But yeah, Stubhub is ridiculous. Even from the seller, they take a huge cut.
  8. I'd be coming from Union. Never took the UP Express before, so hopefully there are no delays getting down. Supposed to be only 1 stop on the way before Union. Gate 5/6 are always ridiculous, though I find it always looks worse then what the wait time actually is. Likely 10-15 min wait at most.
  9. I find 500 level seats are tough to sell on StubHub, unless it's like the first couple of rows around the infield. Anything high up or away from the infield is a tough sell. As a buyer, you're already paying a high price for a ticket, so why not spend the extra $50-60 more to get a better seat in the 100 or 200 level outfield? If I just want to get into the building and stand down in the 100 level concourse, then I'll buy any 500 level seat that is the cheapest.
  10. I have a Raptors season ticket card, would that work?
  11. I'm going to dinner but leaving right after to catch the UP Express from Weston and Lawrence either the 6:53 train or 7:08 train, so I'd get downtown in time. They live around there and it's only a 14 min ride, so worse case scenario I miss the first inning because of the security lines at the gates.
  12. I told them I listed my ticket on StubHub (didn't lol) and I've been saying since its only a single ticket it'll be tough to sell (which is somewhat true).
  13. Yeah we usually celebrate Sunday, though mid-to-late afternoon. Not sure why its Sunday evening. And you think it would have hurt them to maybe move dinner up by 2-3 hours, especially when I already have a ticket for a postseason game that I bought back in September.
  14. Haha yeah. My uncle is a huge Argos fan and if there was an Argos playoff game or they were in the Grey Cup, the world around him would stop.
  15. f***, I'm getting pressure from the family to go to Thanksgiving dinner tonight instead of the Jays game. Like they couldn't move it up a couple of hours for late lunch instead especially since I already have a ticket. Game or Thanksgiving? Likely leaning towards the game. It's the postseason.
  16. Tulo should be hitting 5th, not Martin. Hope that changes next game.
  17. Had fried chicken and waffles in Portland two weeks ago. f***ing amazing!
  18. Korean fried chicken is the best! http://sethlui.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/chicken-up.jpg
  19. Does TBS even show the pitch count during the game? Awful.

  21. Yeah everything you see or read on social media, it's like they want to have the guy tar & feathered. What he did was wrong & potentially dangerous to the players on the field and he should definitely be charged & fined for his actions. Though I think they made a bigger deal of this over social media then they needed, especially when the police already identified who the person was. There was no need to release his photo and name.
  22. Allen has blown a bunch of saves this year. He's a great reliever, though he's not a lock.
  23. Probably people who work security at the gates are all given a list of people with photos/mugshots who are banned from the Rogers Centre at the beginning of the season and its updated throughout depending on how serious the act was. Though still, its easy to wear a hoodie, grow a beard, sunglasses etc. when going through security so I'm sure its real tough to enforce.
