  1. To Dinger: Porcello To me: Grandal
  2. I don't follow the MLS, though gotta hand it to the TFC for battling back with 2 goals. All they need to do is win 1-0 or 2-1 at home next game and they could make it through.

    NBA Thread

Caught some of Tim & Sid tonight and Sid went off on a good rant. He made some good points and even said if that was Curry, LeBron, Durant or Wade who made that shot at the end of the game, it likely wouldn't have ended like that. http://www.sportsnet.ca/videos/leagues/nba-video/
  4. I would easily roll the dice on him again, though I doubt the Jays even consider bringing him back. He'll be a good sign wherever he goes.
  5. Feliz likely could get a 3/18 or 3/21 deal based on his age, upside and the market.
  6. Yeah I wish they got salaries right when signing FA's during the offseason to make it more realistic. Hopefully its something they fix in next years version. You could sign a guy for next to nothing if they have a player rating under 85.
  7. Played some MLB the Show today and completed the first offseason in Franchise mode and simulated the two months so far of 2017. Just for fun. Some key moves that I made during the offseason: - Signed Charlie Morton to a 2 year deal. - Signed Mike Napoli to a 1 year deal. - Apparently Tex didn't retire in the game yet, so signed him to a cheap 1 year deal. - QO on EE and Bautista. Bautista did accept the QO so I'm stuck with him. EE signed a 4 year deal with the Cubs lol. - Traded JA Happ, Melvin Upton Jr and a decent prospect to the Angels for Kole Calhoun. - Signed Justin Turner to a 2 year deal. - Signed Jarrod Dyson to a 1 year deal. - traded for Boone Logan (Rockies resigned him). - signed Francisco Rodriguez to a cheap 1 year deal before ST. Here is what my roster looks like: 2B Devon Travis 3B Josh Donaldson DH Jose Bautista SS Troy Tulowitzki RF Kole Calhoun 1B Mark Teixeira/Mike Napoli platoon C Russell Martin CF Kevin Pillar LF Jarrod Dyson/Justin Turner BN Justin Turner (playing him everyday all over) BN Mike Napoli (starts at 1B against LHP) BN Jon Jay (Pompey got injured so he's my new 4th OF now) BN Carlos Ruiz Rotation: SP Aaron Sanchez SP Marcus Stroman SP Francisco Liriano SP Marco Estrada SP Charlie Morton Bullpen (Grilli retired, have Biagini in AAA since he's not rated that high): RHP Matt Shoemaker (picked him up in Rule 5 lol) RHP Juan Nicasio RHP Francisco Rodriguez LHP Aaron Loup LHP Boone Logan RHP Daniel Hudson CL Roberto Osuna
  8. I will admit, golf has got more exciting now with the talent on tour. And hoping Tiger Woods could make some sort of a comeback.
  9. I prefer him as a starter obviously though if you're Liriano and you could pitch at an elite level out of the BP, from a financial standpoint it might be enticing. Lets say he pitches 70-80 innings with a low 2 ERA, 25-30 holds & 100 K's this season, would that net him more money & a longer contract possibly? Obviously if he fails as a reliever, he screws himself. Even as a mediocre starter who pitches 180 innings with an ERA around 4, he should still get 1/10 easily.
  10. Wouldn't shock me if Logan demands 4 years as well after this Cecil deal. There is no harm in rolling the dice with any of those arms above especially if they only require a cheap 1-year contract. Could likely have Matusz or Venters on a minor league contract anyways.
  11. They need him as a starter. Rubby De La Rosa would be a nice SP to target as a reliever.
  12. With the way the market looks to be going for elite relievers, if you're Francisco Liriano would you prefer to be a starter or a late-inning reliever in 2017? If Liriano has a mediocre season as a starter, he likely only gets a 1-2 year deal as a FA. If he pitches lights out of the BP, he could be in line for a better pay cheque. Especially if the Blue Jays utilize him like Cleveland did with Andrew Miller and using him multiple innings if need be or bringing him in tight spots early in a game etc. The idea isn't too far fetched.
  13. Michael Dunn is interesting. Always has had solid K rates, though he can be wild at times. Marc Rzepczynski is a FA as well and could be an interesting target. Brian Matusz could be a good buy low. Same with Johny Venters. I'd roll the dice on either of those two.
  14. Cecil's high ERA comes from before 2013 when he struggled as a starter. Since then, he's been a pretty darn good reliever so I don't get what type of argument you're trying to make here.
  15. It's not that bad. Basically around 7.5M per season. If he stays healthy and pitches 240-280 very good innings for them during those 4 years, he's worth it.
  16. Yeah I would have been comfortable with him back at 3/24, though I wouldn't do 4 years with him.
  17. A deal likely would have to start with Travis + Stroman + more IMO.
  18. AL Cy Young Rick Porcello is available.
  19. Does this mean we get 26-man rosters in the LOD?
  20. Keep dreaming man, he's strictly a 1B/DH lol.
  21. Never knew Napoli could play all over the field...
  22. Yeah I don't see him hitting .270 again. Likely his BA sits more around .240-.250 with 15-20 HR pop still. We've seen late bloomers like Bautista and EE find success later into their careers. S-Rod always had a solid profile coming up with intriguing raw power for a guy his size. Like you said, the fact that he could play every position and since this as an aging roster, he could be a vital piece.
  23. He has been a super utility player in Pittsburgh the past two seasons. Never given a starting role. He can play all over the field. As for his salary, he's not going to demand that much. Probably a 2 year deal worth $8-10 million at most.
  24. S-Rod is an upgrade over Barney, Goins, Carrera etc. Don't see why people think he would be a waste. Far from it.
  25. .270/.349/.510 slashline with 18 HR's in 300 AB, 129 wRC+ and 1.9 WAR. Always has hit well at the Rogers Centre as well.
