  1. A deal likely would have to start with Travis + Stroman + more IMO.
  2. AL Cy Young Rick Porcello is available.
  3. Does this mean we get 26-man rosters in the LOD?
  4. Keep dreaming man, he's strictly a 1B/DH lol.
  5. Never knew Napoli could play all over the field...
  6. Yeah I don't see him hitting .270 again. Likely his BA sits more around .240-.250 with 15-20 HR pop still. We've seen late bloomers like Bautista and EE find success later into their careers. S-Rod always had a solid profile coming up with intriguing raw power for a guy his size. Like you said, the fact that he could play every position and since this as an aging roster, he could be a vital piece.
  7. He has been a super utility player in Pittsburgh the past two seasons. Never given a starting role. He can play all over the field. As for his salary, he's not going to demand that much. Probably a 2 year deal worth $8-10 million at most.
  8. S-Rod is an upgrade over Barney, Goins, Carrera etc. Don't see why people think he would be a waste. Far from it.
  9. .270/.349/.510 slashline with 18 HR's in 300 AB, 129 wRC+ and 1.9 WAR. Always has hit well at the Rogers Centre as well.
  10. He wasn't going to get $70 + million like people on here were throwing around. He's a platoon bat, entering his 30's. Would have been the most expensive platoon player ever.
  11. Big fan of S-Rod dating back all the way to his days in the Angels system and with the Rays. Think he still has some untapped potential.
  12. And maple syrup.
  13. He's Canadian.
  14. Always see Jerry at the coffee shop near me. Great guy personally. He's a class act. I'm glad they caught it early and hope for a speedy recovery!

LeBron was triggered by the word "posse." I guess the SJW's got to him!
  16. Would you bolt for the extra $6M?
  17. I say he gets 3/$21 million.
  18. Bleachers are a blast at Wrigley. Went back in 2009 for a weekend and for my first game it was against the Pirates. Sat in the second row in left field and fans were heckling Nyjer Morgan nonstop which was hilarious. No crude or offensive language which was the good thing.

Raps always play Golden State well. Wouldn't shock me if its a close game down to the final 2-3 minutes, though sucks with the way they set up the schedule which could definitely make it a blowout. Cleveland and then Golden State back to back! Who the f*** came up with that idea? They should be fired!

He's a very likeable guy and with the Raptors success the past 2-3 seasons with him at the helm along with Lowry, you wanted to keep that winning culture together. Team chemistry is more important in sports like basketball than it is in baseball IMO since its such a small locker room. Plus, who else could have they brought in realistically who would have been better? At the end of the day, even if DeRozan wasn't play at this high of a level to start the year, I'm still OK with the signing.
  21. Buying on a game to game basis when I feel like going down to a game. Might scoop up some single game tickets during the first day of ticket sales to some of the bigger games like the Home Opener, Canada Day game, and some premium weekend games in the summer. Otherwise, for games in April/May & most weeknight games, I'll just buy tickets for less off StubHub. Also, looking to go to Chicago in August to see the Cubs series, so will be trying to buy those the first day when Cubs tickets go on sale in February.
  22. They had a lot of holes in the rotation last offseason so they signed Happ and Estrada pretty early in the offseason. They have a lot of holes in the lineup this offseason, so they signed Morales who might not be the best option, though is better than being left empty handed. Wouldn't shock me if we see the Jays sign a corner outfielder in the next couple of days as well.
  23. We've seen Shapiro & Atkins move fast in the offseason so far during their tenure locking up players due to the risk of them losing out on other bigger names and/or paying higher prices. They did the same thing with Happ and Estrada last season to shore up the rotation early. They did the same thing in August when resigning Smoak (which I was totally against). Wouldn't shock me if they try and lock up a corner outfielder over the next couple of days following this move. Seems like this front office is more worried about having security around the roster.
  24. He's a switch hitter and moving to a ballpark like Toronto can definitely improve his numbers. Likely just to stick as the DH hopefully. 11M/3 years is a lot better than spending $25 M on EE for 5 years.
  25. I'd still look at Beltran as a DH & part-time corner outfielder. Would be a perfect fit for this lineup. Likely would take a 2 year deal in the $36-40 million range. Matt Holliday could be really interesting as a DH/1B as well. Wonder if Tulo can help recruit him to play here. A one year deal worth $12-15 million might be able to get him here. I know Beltran and Holliday are old, though both can at least still provide above average production if healthy and only require a short term commitment versus resigning EE at 5 years.
