If anyone is looking for tickets to the Raps/Cavs game, send me a PM. Will sell at season seat holder price, so cheaper than face value. Can transfer tickets online as well through my account manager.
  2. Daniel Hudson could be an interesting target. Struggled as a reliever this season, though still posted solid peripherals. He had a solid 2015 season out of the pen.

They should still be a Top 3-4 team in the East barring injuries to any of their significant players. A lot of teams in the East did improve this offseason, though Grange on T&S made a good point how in basketball sometimes it takes time for teams to adjust when there is a lot of turnover, whereas the Raps are coming back with the same core (with minor changes to the roster). Raps only had Carroll for 26 games last regular season, so having him healthy over a full season hopefully would be a huge plus. Also, will be interesting to see what Norman Powell does over a full season. Lowry is in a contract year, so I expect big numbers from him again.
  4. Guys leave todd alone please. He means no harm.
  5. Should I be calling up Laine?

Sold my pair for the home opener tonight. Have an extra pair available for the Cavs game this Friday if anyone is interested.
  7. Yeah that's the only thing. It's risky, though you would have to hope he wouldn't get more than 5-6 years when he's 33. I'm fine either way if they decide to extend him now. I'd like to see JD here long term and if he could age well like Adrian Beltre has, that would be the ideal situation!
  8. Werth was really only good for 2 seasons (maybe could make an argument for 3) during his Nationals tenure.
  9. Might be better to ride out JD's contract and maybe resign him after he becomes a FA since he'll be 33 and his value might decline a bit by then. Plus factor in that Machado, Harper, and a whole bunch of other top players will be FA's and a lot younger, so there might not be that $200+ million/8 year deal for Donaldson at that point, maybe more like a 5-6 year deal instead.
  10. I thought I read an article a while back that he improved his pitch framing a couple of years ago? Haven't really been following him so could be mistaken. Offensively, he'd be a solid backup who has some pop and can get on-base. Though if his framing is pretty poor, probably best to look at other options. Other interesting options are Hank Conger & Alex Avila. How is Nick Hundley as a framer? Yan Gomes could be a trade candidate in Cleveland possibly with the heroics of Roberto Perez in the postseason. Shapiro is familiar with Gomes, so he might be an option if he wouldn't cost much via trade. Crazy how he posted 3.3 and 4.4 WAR seasons in 2013 & 2014.

If anyone wants Raptors tickets this season, send me a PM. Cheaper than face value.
  12. Looking to move Rick Porcello. He won 20 something games this season, so he knows how to win.
  13. Thinking of some trade ideas. Marcus Stroman for Joc Pederson...what do you think? Dodgers seem like they could use another SP with Hill departing as a FA and since their rotation is filled with injury prone arms after Kershaw and Maeda. Stroman in the NL would be a nice fit for them. Pederson would give the Jays an athletic outfielder who is left-handed and has some pop & speed. Playing half of his games at the Rogers Centre could definitely improve his power output. I think Pederson's value has taken a slight hit in comparison to where it was two years ago though he still has huge upside and Stroman had some ups & downs this season, so it would definitely be a challenge trade on both sides.

If anyone is interested in going to the home opener on Wednesday, send me a PM. Looking to sell my pair.
  15. He's Canadian so I'd be down for that.
  16. I'd rather sign Carter at a much cheaper rate over what Trumbo will demand. Brewers likely tender Carter a contract though.
  17. Injuries and s*** happens over a 162 game season...
  18. Sergio Santos was a great closer when here.
  19. Only way Liriano nets something of value is at the trade deadline if he's pitched like his 2013-2015 form during the first half of the season and the Blue Jays are out of it.
  20. Yeah I agree. The white home jersey's with the red logo, lettering and cap are much better then the all red jersey.
  21. I think there's a better chance that EE stays in contrast to David Price last offseason for a number of reasons. EE won't demand a 7-8 year deal like Price was expected to get. I'm sure Shapiro/Atkins have a similar philosophy to Beeston/AA when it comes to handing out deals longer then 5 years. Secondly, EE seems like the guy who prefers to be in a place he's comfortable in, so Toronto definitely has that working for them if they send him a strong offer. He's used to the city, ballpark, clubhouse, fans etc. and he knows that the Blue Jays are close to getting to a World Series. Lastly, the market for EE won't be as large as it was for Price last offseason. EE is probably the top bat yes, though Trumbo (whose younger) and Napoli are FA's as well. I could see an AL team feel more comfortable going 4-5 years on EE versus an NL team. Overall, at the end of the day if a team comes calling and offers 5 years for $120 million etc., EE is most definitely gone. If his market is in the 4 year range/$80-90 million, I think the Blue Jays can be competitive in trying to resign him if they're willing to go 4 years instead of 3.
  22. Even Andrew Miller was a failed starter back with the Tigers and the Marlins. The Red Sox took a flier on him, stuck him in the BP and he displayed improved K/9 and BB/9 rates which lead him to being used in higher leverage situations, and now all of a sudden he's one of the best relievers in the game.
  23. BJ Ryan was a bargain back in 2006 when you think of it in contrast to what elite relievers like Chapman or Jansen on today's market could demand lol. No, basically because relievers are volatile and that you can build bullpens on the cheap by finding guys in your system who failed as starters (e.g. Cecil, Betances, Phelps, Hand, Blanton, Colome etc.), young arms with high K/9 rates, or sign cheap veterans or bounce-back candidates on short term deals. I've always held that philosophy. I think 20M can be allocated better on the roster then on just one bullpen arm.
