  1. Just got goosebumps from watching that HR.
  2. I'm sure he owned a house or nice luxury condo in the Miami area which has to be worth close to a million or more. Plus if he had any sponsorship deals as well. They aren't struggling financially like many people make it seem like they will be.
  3. Also, don't forget about the sponsorship deals some of these players get.
  4. Off topic, though thats why top tennis players like Djokovic, and other top athletes like Messi for example reside in Monte-Carlo, Monaco because they aren't taxed.
  5. I said he'll be recognized in the HOF in the capacity as the Hurl mentioned, which I'm 100% sure will happen and should. As for him being in the HOF, I just think its tough to justify it and especially since there has never been a similar case as this one. By you saying recognizing great players in the game, wasn't Mark Prior a great player in the game for the time he was healthy? Tim Lincecum? etc. I understand they were different scenarios obviously, but I don't think its as clear cut as it is. Like Grant said, I wouldn't be upset if he was inducted down the road and it definitely would shake up the process in terms of what the HOF voters base their votes on.
  6. Boston for sure. Doubt the White Sox would be interested. KC won't have the money. Texas is definitely a possibility with Fielder gone. I don't think the Astros will be heavily interested, same with the Mariners who already have Cruz who they rotate between RF and DH already as is. NL teams that could be interested include: Nationals, Mets, Cardinals, and maybe the Dodgers depending on if they move from A-Gon.
  7. Yes, though wasn't Mark Prior in 2003 one of the greatest young pitchers the game has ever seen? Then what happened to him? Look I love Jose Fernandez and I do agree that he was one of the greatest young pitchers in the game and it goes even beyond that in terms of his role and influence for Cuban baseball, though I don't think he's a HOF.
  8. I don't think he's a HOF. Like BB said, you could have said the same thing about Strasburg after his first couple of years or even a guy like Tim Lincecum after his two Cy-Young years and look at what has happened to them in terms of injuries and drop-off in performance. Agree there should be a memorial award for him of some kind. As well, like the Hurl said, there should be a jersey of his in Cooperstown honouring him and what he meant to the game, especially Cuban baseball. And hopefully the Marlins wear a special crest on their jersey honouring him, and a No. 16 on their caps for this year and next.
  9. Ah hardly any good valued seats available on Stubhub for today's game. Likely will just have to buy from the box office.
  10. Yeah I probably just put close to $3000 bones on my CC, though I'm sure I'll get probably half or two thirds of it back unless the Jays go all the way to the World Series. I only bought singles for myself in the WC, ALDS #1, ALCS #1 and WS #1,6,7. Bought pairs for the Wildcard and Game 7 of the World Series to sell as I figure those games at least could help cover the cost.
  11. Unless they are in a position to win the series or the series is tied 2-2, I wouldn't count on the secondary market price being that much higher. Probably even cheaper. Look at the series last year vs. the Royals. If they play Boston in the ALCS, then different story perhaps.
  12. They mail you cash back. Small bills though.
  13. I got a pair and a single for the AL Wildcard Game. Other games I got tickets for: ALDS #1, #3, ALCS #1, WS #1,6,7. Hopefully the Jays don't get screwed over again for times in the ALDS and ALCS if they make it that far. Otherwise, if there is another game to go to, I'll just buy a single ticket off StubHub or wait if the Jays release any before game time.
  14. Do WestJet seats sell well?
  15. You get your money back.
  16. Your money gets donated to the Jays Care Foundation.
  17. I could get a pair for the ALDS Game 1, Sec 114, Row 4. Good seats?
  18. Geez World Series tickets are bloody expensive. $200 bones each in the 500 level.
  19. I got two tix for the wildcard game as well (Sec 243) and one single for myself in (Sec 124)
  20. Yeah saw that. Crazy. So far got ALDS Game 1 and World Series Game 1.
  21. For the wildcard game or ALDS?
  22. Any good bars neat Safeco to check out before the game?
  23. There's a single 15 rows up from the Mariners dugout (total with fees in $84 USD). Has a weird symbol beside it though. Won't say any details on the app.
  24. Yeah saw them pop up but I'm only looking for a single ticket. They won't let you leave one alone like that, damn.
  25. Yeah I found the same thing as well, thanks!
