  1. They probably also figure with all those people inside the stadium early at 11 with nothing to do, some will kill time walking through the Jays Shop to just look around and then possibly buy something. One thing I hate about going early for promotional days is that you're forced to buy lunch/snacks & beers from the concessions (unless you bring your own food), and if you plan on drinking 3-4 beers that day (which some people do when they go to games), I'm sure people will spend more on concessions then the actual ticket. But like Hurl said, not sure what percentage goes to the Blue Jays. I have stopped buying beer when going to games. It's sickening that they charge close to $12 for a can that you can buy for $2.50-3 at the LCBO. I'll either go for beers before or afterwards somewhere.
  2. Other teams do that. I remember last year when out at Dodgers Stadium, they had a bobblehead promo for a weeknight game in August.
  3. Last nights game was great. Beautiful night for baseball. Had to take advantage of those prices. Plus I'll admit, while its an awesome atmosphere when the dome is sold out, it's sometimes nice when it isn't that crazy. Still 35K is a lot considering. Lineups to get into the building around first pitch were pretty hectic.
  4. True and to be honest Toronto is really more of a weekend city. Working people from Monday to Friday generally don't go out on weeknights like in other places. As well, with TIFF going on this week I'm sure that kind of has an impact for weeknight games.
  5. Yeah but for tonights game, you can buy tickets in the lower bowl for almost 60-70% off.
  6. Its expensive to be a fan, what did you expect?
  7. Tulo since June 18th: .292/.349/.508 with 15 HR's, 48 RBI, 127 wRC+
  8. Maybe this should be voted on in the offseason...
  9. It's basically what I did this season. Most of the time when I got a flex pack, I had to sell most of the games anyways because of either being out of town, or couldn't find anyone to go with. I can't commit to games that are like 6 months in advance. The hassle to sell them as well was a pain sometimes and I'm even talking about last season. Most of the time when I decide to go to a game its the last minute, based on whose pitching, which players are in town, the type of night it is etc.
  10. Never knew that when I added Luke Weaver last week. Not that it would have made a difference anyways, though thats good to know moving forward.
  11. Dave Stewart?
  12. I'd like to see the Jays go year-to-year with Bautista like Boston has with Ortiz. Sure, start him up with a 3/45 or 2/40 type of deal and then go from there. Bautista is probably better off anyways going year-to-year at 20M, since that would equal $80-$100M over 4-5 years if he plays at a high level. Plus, alongside with all the sponsorships he gets from playing in Toronto & Canada, it's probably worth it for him from a financial standpoint to stay in Toronto rather then go somewhere else for a couple of bucks more, unless its a team like the Dodgers or Boston.
  13. I don't think Tulo gets anything less than 5 years at 20M per if he's a FA.
  14. Arizona seems like a team that would hand Tulo a 5-6 year deal worth $160 million.
  15. I think if he was hitting like the Troy of old with the .900 OPS seasons, then easily a team gives him 7-8 years with 25M per. With two subpar seasons offensively (by his standards of what we're used to seeing), I think he gets 6 years at 21M or 22M per.
  16. In a weak market, and since he plays a premium position, I think Tulo easily would get 20M per season still, possibly more. Tough to draw comparisons, though maybe something similar to what the Tigers signed Justin Upton for (6/$132). So basically just wipe out the two options at 14M & 15M with $20M guaranteed + an extra year at 20M.
  17. His K/9 and BB/9 have been a lot better since the beginning of August. Over 7 starts in 43.2 innings, he has 38 K's and 12 BB's. Stream worthy for sure.
  18. I think it's a deal that the ball club has to have with StubHub in order to allow that. The Jays already have the technology, since you can scan in with your phone via the Ticketmaster app or download an e-ticket if you purchase a ticket through the Jays site. Not every ballpark in the U.S. offers that scan in feature off StubHub (for e.g. Yankee Stadium from what I recall).
  19. Yeah was shocked. Wondering if anyone else has seen him in the past before games? Seriously, you can make some good cash at $5 per sheet.
  20. Took Darling. Sorry guys completely forgot. Sent Thunder a PM.
  21. Yeah, other MLB stadiums like at AT&T or Citi Field, you could buy off StubHub and scan in using a electronic ticket. Shocked the Jays haven't done that yet, especially since you scan in with e-tickets if bought from the official Blue Jays site on TM.
  22. I bought mine before I left home around 6 PM, Sec 127, Row 23. Nice seats, won't complain. Also, had a $10 Stubhub coupon, so only ended up paying $17 USD for the seat. Still can't believe premium infield seats are going that cheap. It was a beautiful night for baseball. Might even go again on Tuesday or Wednesday if I could grab a seat at the same price. As I was walking to the dome, there's a guy on the bridge (John Street side) who had a portable computer/printer and was charging $5 per sheet of paper printed. Never saw that before.
  23. Which seat you think is better? Sec 127, Row 23 for $22 USD or Sec 115, Row 11 for $19.90 USD?
  24. Yeah, I have a friend who has a place near the dome that I could print tickets if I buy off the app, or worst case I buy my ticket right at 6 from home and I just make it in time for first pitch.
  25. Looks like it will be a good night, so might just go down there by myself if I could get a decent seat for cheap.
