  1. Yeah I say under. Tough seeing him get a 5 year deal unless a team really wants him and contracts get pretty ridiculous this offseason. I say he gets 4 years/$85 million.
  2. As good as Chapman is, I can't stomach handing out over a $100 million contract to a reliever.
  3. One will pop up in the next 24 hrs.
  4. Yelich would easily cost Stroman + or Sanchez.
  5. We've seen older players have success in the right situation on short term contracts: Vladdy with Texas in 2010, Beltran, V-Mart, etc. It wouldn't surprise me to see Holliday hit 25 HR's here as a DH.
  6. It's too humid. It's perfect in May and late August/early-late September. June, July & August can be torture.
  7. He was one of my favourite hitters back in 2006/2007 when I followed the Rockies extensively. He's more of a AVG/OBP type of player in contrast to just being all power which from the sounds of it is what this team wants to focus on. Plus I think him hitting in this ballpark, along with the DH factor makes so much sense from his perspective. I really hope Tulo can persuade him to sign here as a DH/1B. Probably could get him on a one-year deal + a club option.
  8. 2007 Rockies
  9. Maybe Tulo could recruit him to sign with Toronto.
  10. Has anyone received their cheques from StubHub yet if they sold their games online? Sold a pair for the AL Wildcard game on their and haven't received my cheque yet.
  11. Some team desperate for power will probably give Bruce a 1/15 type of deal in a weak market. Probably was in line for a 4/5 year deal before his struggles with the Mets down the stretch.
  12. As a corner OF bat who is left-handed with some pop and speed, Kole Calhoun would definitely be a nice fit. Plus would be interesting to see the type of numbers he'd put up playing half of his games at the Rogers Centre.
  13. Gibby did a good job running the Reed Johnson/Frank Catalanatto platoon back in 2005 & 2006. The Cat was never in the lineup against lefties, and he did use Reed Johnson effectively as a bat against LHP, defensive replacement for the Cat late in games, and as a rotating OF when Wells or Rios needed a day off.
  14. Haha got to tweet Mike Wilner the link to this thread.
  15. Adam Eaton would be a great fit, though no chance in hell the White Sox trade him.
  16. I've seen numbers like $70 + million thrown around when mentioning Reddick on this board. Pretty expensive for a platoon bat.
  17. JD went the opposite way quite a bit in the Cleveland series.
  18. I'd feel more comfortable using Chapman as how Cleveland used Andrew Miller in the postseason then Jansen. Is there any reliever like that who could be acquired via trade?
  19. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-blue-jays-should-rebuild/
  20. He definitely can get a 4th year, wouldn't shock me in this market. Though he's not a guy I'd feel comfortable with handing that type of money to + a top draft pick. He likely won't produce another season close to 5 WAR again. He struggled a bit offensively in the second half of this season and he does strikeout a lot. Though yeah, I think he'd be a great fit for the top of the lineup in terms of what he brings to the table: switch-hitter, gap power, gets on-base, can play all 3 outfield positions, and can lead-off.
  21. Did anyone read the Dave Cameron article on Fangraphs?
  22. I think on a contending team with veterans like the Blue Jays have, Gibbons' laid back personality is definitely a positive. I guess this is a sign that the Jays will be all-in again for 2017. If they were going to do a short rebuild and retool for 2018, then I think Gibbons should be gone.
  23. Yeah I can't see Fowler getting 4/72. More like 3 for 45 or 50 etc. with an option tacked on. He's going to be 31 next season. Fowler would be a great addition to this squad though. Switch-hitter, can play CF or RF, and would be an awesome leadoff hitter who could get on-base and has gap power. Hopefully Tulo can do some recruiting this offseason.
  24. Just need to focus on tomorrow. Looking ahead, the Jays could still take this series to a Game 7 though their lineup needs to produce and can't waste opportunities (which they did even today at times). The Jays need to score a bunch of runs early tomorrow in order to avoid facing Miller and Allen in the late innings. They have the right guy on the mound tomorrow in Estrada.
