  1. With the way the market looks to be going for elite relievers, if you're Francisco Liriano would you prefer to be a starter or a late-inning reliever in 2017? If Liriano has a mediocre season as a starter, he likely only gets a 1-2 year deal as a FA. If he pitches lights out of the BP, he could be in line for a better pay cheque. Especially if the Blue Jays utilize him like Cleveland did with Andrew Miller and using him multiple innings if need be or bringing him in tight spots early in a game etc. The idea isn't too far fetched.
  2. Michael Dunn is interesting. Always has had solid K rates, though he can be wild at times. Marc Rzepczynski is a FA as well and could be an interesting target. Brian Matusz could be a good buy low. Same with Johny Venters. I'd roll the dice on either of those two.
  3. Cecil's high ERA comes from before 2013 when he struggled as a starter. Since then, he's been a pretty darn good reliever so I don't get what type of argument you're trying to make here.
  4. It's not that bad. Basically around 7.5M per season. If he stays healthy and pitches 240-280 very good innings for them during those 4 years, he's worth it.
  5. Yeah I would have been comfortable with him back at 3/24, though I wouldn't do 4 years with him.
  6. A deal likely would have to start with Travis + Stroman + more IMO.
  7. AL Cy Young Rick Porcello is available.
  8. Does this mean we get 26-man rosters in the LOD?
  9. Keep dreaming man, he's strictly a 1B/DH lol.
  10. Never knew Napoli could play all over the field...
  11. Yeah I don't see him hitting .270 again. Likely his BA sits more around .240-.250 with 15-20 HR pop still. We've seen late bloomers like Bautista and EE find success later into their careers. S-Rod always had a solid profile coming up with intriguing raw power for a guy his size. Like you said, the fact that he could play every position and since this as an aging roster, he could be a vital piece.
  12. He has been a super utility player in Pittsburgh the past two seasons. Never given a starting role. He can play all over the field. As for his salary, he's not going to demand that much. Probably a 2 year deal worth $8-10 million at most.
  13. S-Rod is an upgrade over Barney, Goins, Carrera etc. Don't see why people think he would be a waste. Far from it.
  14. .270/.349/.510 slashline with 18 HR's in 300 AB, 129 wRC+ and 1.9 WAR. Always has hit well at the Rogers Centre as well.
  15. He wasn't going to get $70 + million like people on here were throwing around. He's a platoon bat, entering his 30's. Would have been the most expensive platoon player ever.
  16. Big fan of S-Rod dating back all the way to his days in the Angels system and with the Rays. Think he still has some untapped potential.
  17. And maple syrup.
  18. He's Canadian.
  19. Always see Jerry at the coffee shop near me. Great guy personally. He's a class act. I'm glad they caught it early and hope for a speedy recovery!

LeBron was triggered by the word "posse." I guess the SJW's got to him!
  21. Would you bolt for the extra $6M?
  22. I say he gets 3/$21 million.
  23. Bleachers are a blast at Wrigley. Went back in 2009 for a weekend and for my first game it was against the Pirates. Sat in the second row in left field and fans were heckling Nyjer Morgan nonstop which was hilarious. No crude or offensive language which was the good thing.

Raps always play Golden State well. Wouldn't shock me if its a close game down to the final 2-3 minutes, though sucks with the way they set up the schedule which could definitely make it a blowout. Cleveland and then Golden State back to back! Who the f*** came up with that idea? They should be fired!

He's a very likeable guy and with the Raptors success the past 2-3 seasons with him at the helm along with Lowry, you wanted to keep that winning culture together. Team chemistry is more important in sports like basketball than it is in baseball IMO since its such a small locker room. Plus, who else could have they brought in realistically who would have been better? At the end of the day, even if DeRozan wasn't play at this high of a level to start the year, I'm still OK with the signing.
