  1. Don't draft him in the DDL or LOD by mistake.

Raps give him a max contract? You would think it's a no brainer.

Giants won't be that easy, though I still favour the Packs in that matchup at Lambo. Better than going into Seattle next week for sure.

Do the Leafs have a chance at making the playoffs?
  5. Send me a PM. Could be interested to something similar that you floated around for Smith earlier in the season.
  6. Todd had to donate to his 104th ranked prospect.
  7. He would be a great fit in Toronto. Doubt the Yankees trade him though to a division rival.
  8. I don't see the Jays being in a rush to lock anyone up right at this moment. Perhaps after 2017 you'll start hearing conversations about Stroman, Sanchez, Travis and Osuna depending on the years they have.
  9. That start Sanchez made against Boston at the end of the season was the best I ever saw him. Kid just flat out dominated that outing. People shouldn't underestimate Liriano. He could put together a big season with Martin behind the plate and in a contract year there is extra motivation for him especially since it could be the last big contract he gets.
  10. My Christmas Eve tradition every year: watching Die Hard at midnight with a nice glass of scotch!
  11. Shopping on Christmas Eve usually isn't that bad. The LCBO today probably will be crazy still though. Yesterday was probably the craziest day at the malls and at grocery stores. I did all my Christmas shopping online and avoided the hassle of going to malls and stores. Amazon is perfect. And most of the other retailers like the Bay, Sport Chek, Best Buy etc. offer free shipping as well. Did all LCBO shopping earlier this week late afternoon and wasn't busy.
  12. I'm curious to see what the asking price is.
  13. The Jays front office really misread the 1B/DH market, as did the entire industry. If the Jays were more patient, they most likely would have been able to snag EE at what Cleveland paid for him. Instead they rushed into signing Morales to 3 years right at the beginning of the offseason. Right now Morales could possibly still be a FA and likely is only getting a one-year deal, instead of three. This is how this FO works which I've been saying from last year: they like to work early and would rather have a Plan B or C in place to fill a hole on the roster instead of risking not having anything going after their Plan A. They did that with Estrada and Happ last offseason (which paid off), and they did that by resigning Smoak to a two-year extension in August (which was a stupid mistake). Sucks because they are spending close to 15M on just Morales & Smoak alone. Thing is it didn't work this time around since they completely misread the market that was flooded with veteran power 1B/DH type bats.
  14. Yup. It's not a guarantee guys like Moss, Rasmus, Pagan or Coghlan would want to come here in the first place. Look at Fowler and Reddick for an example. There aren't any decent outfielders who are both solid offensively & defensively available anyways. Bautista is an icon here, the organization knows him best, and we all know when he's healthy he could be one of the most feared hitters in baseball. There is no way a guy like Rasmus, Moss, Granderson or Bruce even come close offensively to what a healthy Bautista is capable of.
  15. I wrote an article on this a couple of weeks ago: http://theballpoint.org/index.php/2016/12/07/jose-bautistablue-jays-reunion-isnt-question/ The 2-3 year deal now seems out of the question. Jays shouldn't hesitate to bring him back on a one year deal if thats all it will cost. Guys like Bruce or Granderson will require $13 & $15 million respectively + assets and both of them aren't as good as Bautista can be with the bat. Bautista is one of the greatest if not greatest hitter ever to put on a Blue Jays uniform and its sad this organization is kind of casting him aside like this when he won't be that expensive to bring back.

I guess the last real good legit goalie the Leafs had was Ed Belfour. Geez!
  17. They need to bring back Bautista to rotate between 1B/LF/DH with Pearce and Morales. Losing EE the way they did definitely doesn't sit well with the casual fans. At least if they bring back Bautista, that might ease some things from a PR perspective. Plus Bautista's bat would be a great help for this lineup right now if he returns to his pre-2016 level which is definitely possible if he's healthy.
  18. Tim & Sid should be interesting to watch tonight.
  19. I've always liked Alex Avila and since he's a left-handed bat could be a nice fit. Posted 1.1 WAR in 57 games last season. Has some decent pop and has good OBP skills. Might be able to catch lightning in a bottle with him (doubt he comes close to his 2011 season level). How's his framing?
  20. Until the A's trade him to a contender in July.
  21. Possibly to block the Rangers from signing him? They could probably rotate him and Beltran at the DH spot.
  22. Someone sent me a PM asking about him in BORED. He's in demand.
  23. V-Mart used to catch haha.
