  1. Are we talking about poetry, English literature or sports journalism here? Most sports writers yes lean Liberal or very left. Also because most mainstream media outlets or newspapers in which they work for lean that way as well, so I'm sure some are pressured to either push that same agenda or they just stay silent. It's also not some conspiracy that most MLB athletes are more center or Conservative leaning than Liberal.
  2. Paxton likely more after the All-Star break instead of June.
  3. This is one of the seasons the Red Sox finish below .500!
  4. Most baseball or sports writers are big leftists. Bruce Arthur is the biggest one. Tweets more about politics than sports. Same with Keith Law. Ironic thing is, most MLB players or other professional athletes (depends on sport) are mostly Conservative.
  5. Yup, pitcher wins were all that mattered when it came to a pay day for free agent pitchers. Winning 15 games was a huge selling point on the free agent market.
  6. What do you think the % of MLB players or any type of professional player have affairs especially when on the road? I think its pretty high. Not saying its right but I would imagine it happens more than people think. Even for her, marrying an athlete who is on the road for 81 games, she would have known it was a possibility. I went to see the Jays play at Fenway in 2009 and stayed at their hotel. I saw Jays players walking out of the lobby at 1-2 am with hot broads getting into taxis or coming back from bars haha. And some of those Jays players I know were married.
  7. I was at that game haha. Lilly wanted to get through 5 innings to get the win. He had a huge lead and was giving it right back. Wanted those W's since he was becoming a FA.
  8. She's pretty cute actually. But yeah for him to ghost her completely, have to hear his side. Maybe she was crazy?
  9. Anyone buying a bottle haha?
  10. Remember during the 2006/2007 offseason, Ted Lilly and Gil Meche were the top FA arms haha. JP wanted to sign both of them. Ted Lilly went on to have a solid career with the Cubs and Dodgers actually. Smart move going to the NL. Meche was actually solid his first two seasons in KC, and afterwards he became trash.

The Leafs need Phil Kessel back!
  12. I wonder if some of those classics like Wedding Crashers or Old School would get the green light in today's woke climate. Classic films!
  13. Kikuchi reminds me a lot of Ted Lilly. I think he can give the Jays the 2004 and 2006 Ted Lilly over the duration of his contract.
  14. Its already the middle of May. He should be good for 5 to 6 innings by now. I wish I kept Quintana instead of Archer in the FC. Regretting it now.
  15. Syndergaard, outside of his start yesterday, has been pretty serviceable with the Angels. Low K rate is what worries me, though he's keeping his BB/9 at a good level. I think he can still return to some part of his previous form. Should have signed with the Giants or Pirates haha. Sanchez is toast. Even the Giants couldn't fix him last season. Maybe a team rolls the dice on him as a reliever on a minor league deal, but he's finished as a MLB starter.
  16. He only pitched 4.1 innings. Hasn't pitched 5+ innings at all this season.

Sad this stuff is even happening in Toronto. Let alone, in the west end in Etobicoke which is a pretty safe part of the city.
  18. And fantasy owners haha.
  19. I would roll the dice on him for maybe two or so weeks and see what he does. Doesn't hurt.
  20. Derek Dietrich would be a nice cheap option, but hasn't played since 2019. Whatever happened to Yasiel Puig? haha.
  21. Yeah ideally if you can get a left handed bat to DH, would be better. Bell is going to cost a hefty price and I'm sure other teams will be interested. Though I'm okay with this team going all-in if it means greatly improving the roster. Another solid option I think would be Mike Moustakas. Can also play a little third and first if you need him to and he's starting to come around with the bat now. Volgelbach might not be a bad option as well. For their careers, Mancini and Pham have hit RHP pitching pretty well, so not really too concerned with them as options.
  22. Tommy Pham or Trey Mancini would be nice adds, and might not cost as much in terms of assets.
  23. The Jays are just stuck in a rut right now. Losing 3 of 4 in Cleveland, the Yankees and playing at the Trop. Tampa can throw out at any arm and shut down the Jays bats. Hoping with the Jays back at home, playing against the Mariners, they can get their bats rolling.
