Samsonov is the perfect high reward signing. Still offers huge potential.

  3. Injuries in baseball do happen and you can't expect the entire lineup 1 through 9 to be healthy 100% time. The Jays lack of depth this season on the roster really hurt when guys were on the IL. Jansen missed significant time, and other guys like Teo, Gurriel and Springer have missed some time as well. Also, maybe one of Gurriel or Jansen are moved for an arm. Benintendi is also a LHB which is what the Blue Jays need. Like I said he isn't a perfect fit, but would be a nice fit if he can be acquired at a reasonable cost. Regardless, it's a moot point at the moment since it's very unlikely the Blue Jays could trade for Benintendi anyways unless certain policies change.
  4. Wouldn't say he's a "perfect fit" but he definitely would be a nice fit as a LHB who can hit at the top of the lineup and play outfield. Better than running out Tapia and Zimmer on a regular basis!
  5. He'll definitely land another job in baseball with an organization and could find himself another MLB managing opportunity a couple of years down the road perhaps.
  6. Another thing as well. He knew he had a weak bullpen. When a starter was rolling and had a good pitch count, he should have rode them an extra inning rather than taking them out after 5 or 6 innings. Again, the weak bullpen is on the FO, though Charlie should have understood and managed his roster accordingly.
  7. His lineup management was awful. As well, getting swept in Seattle was probably icing on the cake and shouldn't happen at this juncture in the season. I don't blame him completely for the Blue Jays this season, but he definitely holds some blame and the manager is always the scapegoat. Definitely more blame lays on the Front Office and the players. Atkins had to do something. If this Blue Jays team misses the Postseason, he likely is gone at the end of the season as well. The Blue Jays had high expectations this season and were even considered one of the favourites for a World Series. Like Omar said, will be interesting to see how the lineup is managed now.
  8. Did a couple three game parlays and got screwed. I bet the Rays and Braves (wouldn't say they were upsets though).
  9. Yankees almost got out of that jam. Wandy Peralta got two weak infield grounders and on the first one they had a chance at the double play but Trevino juggled the ball on the release. He left a high pitch out of the zone for India and he just reached out and poked it to right field.
  10. Open to shaking things up in this league and in BORED as well in terms of trades. So fair value swaps. Don't think either of my teams are elite and unless I get lucky in a playoff matchup, don't see myself going far. But definitely open to shaking things up.
  11. Damn, was getting killed 13-0 I think by the True Cardinals at one point during the weekend. I'll take the 7-7 tie after the start I had.
  12. I bet money on Tampa tonight! Beautiful!
  13. It does feel a lot like Clemens. Man I miss the days of watching Roger Clemens in a Jays uniform. Those two seasons he was here were unreal! One of the best arms in baseball!
  14. Should have bet them last night with Quintana pitching. They were paying good odds.
  15. You do know sometimes it's alright to question these "highly trained professionals" not just in baseball but other professions as well? There are highly trained professionals in many occupations, though it doesn't mean they are 100% correct all the time. They should be criticized when results aren't happening.
  16. If he could stay healthy for another 4-5 more seasons and pitch on a good team (that could help him rack up wins), definitely within reach. Seems like Verlander gets better with age. His stuff is still elite!

If it means the Raptors winning another NBA Championship during that span, doesn't bother me. Raps are not winning a NBA Championship with the current roster, even if some guys like Barnes or OG take their game to another level.

Agreed. Raptors become one of the favourites to win an NBA Championship. Boston and Milwaukee in the East would be their biggest challenge but going head-to-head with them in a 7 game series, I like their chances. Wouldn't be worried about 76ers, Heat, Hawks or other teams. Also, factor in KD wants to win a Championship as the main guy. When he won one with Golden State, there will always be an asterisk next to it because he went to a super team already. He has never carried a team by himself and if he came to the Raptors and won a Championship, NBA media personalities and fans won't give him that hard of a time. I'm sure it's always at the back of his mind when fans and media personalities talk about that.

After reading the rumours on who could be involved, definitely prefer a deal around OG/Trent + picks. If Masai can make it happen do it. KD can be a headcase, but pretty much every NBA superstar is a headcase haha.

I think Barnes and OG are the two guys who could still take their game to another level since their young and have shown flashes of their potential. Regardless, I think it will be tough to keep both players if the Raps swing a deal for Durant, though you never know. Though I'm sure the Nets will want at least one of Barnes or OG leading the deal. Siakam and FVV are still in their prime, though doubt they have any more potential growth. They are what they are now at this point. Siakam is a 22 PPG, 8 REB type guy. Not sure he'll ever take the next step to be a 25-28 PPG guy. Plus trading Siakam would free up some money. Durant easily replaces him. FVV is a heart and soul guy and trading him would create a big hole at PG. If FVV stays healthy and settles into the player what he has done the past three seasons, I'll take that in a heartbeat. Trent Jr is just a shooter and offensive minded player. If he grows into a 20+ PPG player which is definitely possible, great! Though his other stats like REB and AST will be on the empty side. Still a good 4th or 5th player to have in your rotation who can get hot at anytime and put up some points. Though if the Raps traded him, wouldn't lose sleep over it. Guys like him are easy to find and acquire. Would prefer to keep FVV and Siakam over Trent Jr if I had the choice. Boucher I think could take the next step offensively but he won't be a significant guy. Would love to see him be a 15 PPG, 10 REB kind of guy.
  23. Don't wanna play Tampa in the postseason, even if its at the Rogers Centre.
