    I love Houck. He looked great out of the BP last season for them. Could start as well.

    If he got his s*** kicked in for like two seasons in a row, then I would be less confident. He's still young, proven and willing to give him a mulligan on his 2022 season.

    A lot of casual fans will look at what a player/pitcher has done recently and just go by that. Berrios might even outpitch Manoah in 2023 if he returns to his previous form. Wouldn't surprise me.

    Burnett was an awesome pitcher. Sucks he missed some time in 2006 and 2007, though in 2008 he was a beast. Sucked with the Yankees but glad he went on to have success with the Pirates and Phillies near the end of his career.

    Meh, I think the Jays did get unlucky with JD in terms of the timing. They should have traded him when his value was still high like in 2017 or in the offseason. They waited too long. He was injured for the majority of 2018, on an expiring contract - don't think they would have got anything much better than Merryweather at the time.

    I voted better. The lineup is way more balanced now than it was last season. A solid mix of guys who can make contact, have power, take a walk and some speed. Like Havok said above, the lineup will be more consistent and won't go in a huge slump and then get red hot for 2-3 series. So I don't think they'll be prone to long funks as they were last season/ Their roster depth is greatly improved so even if an injury or two simultaneously, they will be able to get by and be competitive. I expect Vladdy to hit better than he did last season. Chapman in a contract year so I think he could put up monster numbers. Overall, I take this lineup over 162 game season over last years lineup.

    I remember David Price pitching out of the Rays pen in 2008 as the next pitching phenom. Crazy!

    Still some decent arms left. Not sure some would sign MiLB contracts as we get closer to ST, though even some arms could be had on MiLB deals, they likely will have opt-outs if they don't make the team out of ST. Brownie mentioned Chad Green. Even a reliever like Jimmy Nelson would be interesting. He looked elite with the Dodgers in 2021 before he went on the IL.

    Yeah I really think an arm like Danny Duffy would compliment this pitching staff very well. Can be used as a starter or a LHR who can pitch multiple innings. Not too crazy about the rest of the LHR's on the market. Matt Moore would be alright, but would prefer Duffy if given an option since he could be used both as a starter/reliever. Like Laika said, will be tough finding depth starters with MLB experience who you can stash in Buffalo unless they have options. Even FAs you send ST invites to, they likely get released if they don't make the 26-man roster and won't accept a demotion to Buffalo. Even if this team loses a big bat for 3-4 weeks or one of their starters miss 3-4 turns in the rotation, I feel confident now that the Jays can hold down the fort in the short term. Obviously any long term injury to someone significant hurts, especially when the Postseason rolls around.

    Yup, I'm glad Atkins and Co. realized and addressed depth this offseason after what happened last season. You can't waste ABs and innings on scrubs who hurt you more than help. Blue Jays now have some quality depth across the board. They're built very well for the 162 game season, a lot better than they were last year at this time.

    Zulu would be an awesome weapon out of the pen later on I think. Forgot about Francis. Overall, love the Jays SP depth right now.

    Haha 20 starts would be pushing it agreed. I could see the most being 10ish if the Jays don't bring in another starter. Otherwise if they do bring in another starter, he likely doesn't see much time up in the Majors at all since Kikuchi and White would be ahead of him.
