  1. Yeah someone like Garcia should be replaceable every season. We know what Garcia is and at 6M it's a little pricey paying that for a 6th/7th inning guy. Jays need to do a better job at replacing him either via in house or by targeting other reliever FAs who could be better. Finding middle relievers during the offseason shouldn't be difficult. There are always guys who could be had for some good value.
  2. Yeah I don't see the Jays picking up the option at all. Like you said maybe they work a multi-year deal out for 2 years or so. I prefer having Merrifield as the 10th man like you said. Can fill multiple spots in the lineup and on the field which should get him 400 PA. And yes would be better than rolling out Biggio/Espinal in that same role.
  3. I love busting your chops on Belly hahaha. For my sake, I hope Belly slows down and that Sale makes 8-10 strong starts down the stretch or else I'm kicking myself making that deal.
  4. Agree with everything you said. We've seen young pitchers crash and burn before. Sanchez definitely comes to mind, Romero does as well. Jays will need to shore up their infield for next season with Merrifield and Chapman both FAs. India solves the 2B solution for the next 4 years. And like you said, he does have some pedigree.
  5. Yeah his xFIP and K numbers still are very good. I'm sure we can attribute some to bad luck for sure as well as him maybe tipping his pitches. I just think he's a better option in the 6th/7th inning and not used coming out for another inning. I don't want him being used in critical spots especially in the Postseason. He should be down on the BP depth charts. Lets hope Green comes back healthy and dominant. He definitely can be the missing BP piece this team needs. I wouldn't put all my cards on Green, but hope he can be an elite pen arm down the stretch and in the Postseason.
  6. Yeah doubt Reds would take on Manoah as a project in a playoff race. I would likely do the deal with no seconds thoughts as well.
  7. Chris Carpenter memories popping up now
  8. I would still prefer Pederson at 18M over Merrifield. At least Pederson could hit 25-30 HRs and the Jays need a power bat for one of their corner OF spots and DH. Merrifield at 18M is way too much IMO given his age and abilities. He's having a nice season but Jays can't afford picking up that option at 18M.
  9. It depends if the Jays think they can get Manoah back to the pitcher he was in 2021/2022. If he's only a passable 4/5 starter moving forward, I would buy low on India and the Jays have their second baseman who still has some untapped potential for the next three seasons. But doubt Reds would even take Manoah now.
  10. Chirinos and Hearn could be solid multiple inning relievers or start when needed. Pierce Johnson is a nice add. Nothing spectacular but solid overall baseball moves nonetheless.
  11. Yeah I'm not too worried about Yimi. He needs to be just used as a 6th/7th inning guy and should only pitch one inning max that's it. Who do we place blame on though? Schneider or the FO brains pulling the strings upstairs?
  12. Lmao. I won't spam the GDTs ever and while I'm criticial of this FO maybe a bit too much, I do give praise when due. When three arms like Bass, Cimber and Garcia who are supposed to be important parts of your middle relief corps, are all pitching below average on a team with Postseason aspirations, thats not good. Relievers are volatile yes, but start having to asking questions why this FO can't complement this roster with a solid pen.
  13. I wish you got Sale before I did haha
  14. Yeah its annoying geez. This team has a solid core and they're throwing away games by starting a s***** Manoah, or throwing guys like Brad Hand into critical situations, or giving someone like Tapia over 400 PAs. This has gone on for 3 seasons now. Atkins needs to be held accountable for these stupid decisions, especially if the Jays miss the Postseason by a game or two in 2023.
  15. Its a shame this team is throwing away games when they're trying to win a Wildcard spot. Atkins has done this in 2021 and even last year. Its a shame with such a great core, they keep running out players that hurt them more than help. Regardless I hope Manoah has a great game today.
  16. f*** I know. I can't believe I listened to these guys when I asked if I should trade Belly for Sale. I'm regretting huge now!
  17. What an amazing BP built by Atkins! Bass DFA, Cimber sucks, Garcia sucks. These guys were supposed to be good lol.
  18. I guess he ain't being used in a deal for Bellinger lol
  19. Yeah Kirk has been awful for over a year. I think its time we accept he's maybe just a .250/.340/.330 type bat. He needs to start hitting for some average power. Ideally we want to see .270/.380/.400 from Kirk.
  20. According to the Sheriff, Belly sucks! Looks like he's the top trade candidate in terms of bats at this deadline.
  21. A lot of you baseball geniuses don't know anything. Since I traded Cody Bellinger, he's been one of the best hitters in baseball. Now I'm stuck with an aging and injured lefty in Chris Sale. Don't take fantasy baseball advice from the BJMB geniuses on here. Haha just joking. But damn since I traded Bellinger I'm regretting it now.
  22. Yeah it's absurd how some posters on here were going gaga all over the pitching lab. It's overrated.
  23. Yeah you make a good point about the Jays wanting to see what they have in Manoah before the trade deadline. I mean, they're knew what they've had all season given that he's been awful since Day 1. Not sure 2 minor league starts was going to change anything, but like you said they have more data than us. Regardless, I hope we don't see Manoah throwing another pitch again at the MLB level this season. Let's hope he conditions himself better this offseason and returns in better overall shape for 2024.
  24. Name names! You're pulling a JaysBlue!
