  1. Yeah he still has loads of potential and definitely has the opportunity to take his game to the next level. I don't want to start an argument by talking about that Jays/D'Backs trade for the 1000th time on here knowing the Atkins Homer brigade will be looking to attack. Though while still early, given the results so far this season, looks like the Jays might have traded away the wrong catcher. But like I've said numerous times, given the Jays timeline and the season Kirk was coming off of, was tough to trade him and roll with an inexperienced guy like Moreno, plus we don't know who the D'Backs preferred anyways.
  2. Trade back for Paul DeJong
  3. There is no need to trade Gausman. Jays will never find a better starting pitcher at that price. I don't think we should totally write off 2024 or 2025 just yet at all.
  4. Schneider should have been playing everyday once he was called up. Glad they're finally playing him everyday now. Gotta keep those hot bats in the lineup!
  5. Finally this team scores runs for Gausman. Great start to this series. Hopefully we can get a sweep!
  6. So what happens for next season? Does Atkins make adjustments and shake things up or does he keep the status quo? He also has to find 4 new starters (2B, 3B, LF and DH) for the lineup. Yup a lot of players underachieved this season. It's not all Atkins' fault obviously but he'll take some of the blame if this team misses the Postseason.
  7. It's still early in this part of the easy schedule.
  8. Yeah I was even saying this two months ago about this easy part of the schedule. Some of these teams aren't duds and you can't just assume the Jays, under pressure right now, to completely dominate these teams. I hated the excuses some posters were using in June that the Jays haven't had an easy schedule yet and that "oh there is nothing to worry about since they have the easiest schedule down the stretch." The Jays better f*%king step up or else they pissed away their season.
  9. Yup. I thought after Game 1, despite getting lucky to pull out that win, what a tough game to grind out and win and start the series with. Then you have two shitballers the next two nights who just shut you down. FFS!
  10. Or move him down the lineup to like 7th or 8th. Send a message.
  11. Fundamentals is the key word here. This isn't just a 2-3 month thing. It's been the entire season. Even last season as well. This team with this star talent have underachieved greatly and if they do miss the Postseason, some serious changes need to be made starting with the coaching staff and some key roster pieces. Atkins can't keep the status quo again for 2024. If the Jays miss the Postseason in 2023, that's 2 of 3 seasons with a roster that was supposed to be World Series contenders. Some serious questions need to be asked and some serious decisions need to be made.
  12. I didn't think I had the same jinxing effect as the Sheriff. I'll walk towards the exit now.
  13. All of the key O's players are in tip top shape haha.
  14. The Orioles don't get the credit they deserve. As much as I hate them, they've been the way better team this year and the head-to-head matchup shows. No more excuses.

He won't coast. He'll be a free agent at 30 and will still be able to land a huge deal at that age if he's playing at an elite level.
  16. Don't tell that to Grant!
  17. Yup, I'm turning 35 next week. No longer in my prime. The Hurl has to be 60 now.
  18. The Jays aren't missing the Playoffs!
  19. Kyle Gibson pitching tonight. Jays bats will be launching off of him!

He's going to eat hot dogs everyday like Phil Kessel.
  22. 58.1 fWAR Pretty much was one of the best overall hitters in the game last decade. Should have re-worded the question asking if he gets in on the first ballot?
  23. He probably retires. As much as I would love to see him sign with the Blue Jays for one-year as a DH/backup 1B for next season, I think he's stated numerous times he wants to finish his career in Cincy. Does everyone on here thinks he makes the HoF?
