  1. Lmao! Geez you seem so irritated, chill man! I'm not going to waste my time going back and forth with you arguing about which player is better, DeJong or Espinal haha. But I'll say my two cents. Both players suck and shouldn't be starters. Espinal offensively doesn't provide much value if he's in the lineup everyday. Not saying DeJong is leap and bounds way better, but DeJong could at least hit for some pop. Sucks DeJong wasn't able to hit during his short stint here but it was a small sample size. If Bo was out for an extended period of time, I would rather have DeJong hitting 8th or 9th and in the field everyday instead of Espinal. DeJong was worth 1.5 WAR with the Cards before the trade, so he was having a pretty solid year. Espinal has been a negative WAR player all year. Espinal had options so I would have kept DeJong around a bit longer in case an injury to their infield pops up or if Bo tweaks something again. Regardless, I'm not going to lose any sleep over either player.
  2. Yeah gotta hope they at least go 10-5 minimum against those teams in that 15 game stretch. Cleveland always plays the Jays tough. Nationals aren't a huge pushover (7-3 in their last 10). Colorado, Oakland and KC suck so gotta at least win 2 of 3 each of those series or sweep one of them. Coors Field sometimes isn't easy to play in especially for a team who rarely visits, but the Rockies are awful. Winning the series against Baltimore would be a huge statement. Yankees won't be a pushover. Would be nice if guys like Judge and Cole are rested but we'll see. Overall, Jays control their own destiny. Their schedule in September is pretty favourable and as long as they play good baseball, they should be right there.
  3. I had no issue removing Ryu after 83 pitches in what was a blowout and given the Jays had an off day. Really was no point in stretching him close to 100 pitches in a blowout. As long as the Jays long and middle relievers sealed the deal without having to burn through high leverage guys, that's fine. I don't have an issue with pushing more from the starters given the in-game circumstances. For example in a close scoring game, would rather see the starter complete 6 innings especially if they're cruising. It's easier for the bullpen to finish off 3 innings instead of 4 innings, especially in a close matchup. If you pull your starter out after 5 innings, you're going to be forced to use guys lower on your BP depth charts to get outs and that sometimes could become an issue. I'm not worried about the Blue Jays high leverage guys - Romano, Hicks, Mayza, Swanson. Once a game reaches the 7th or 8th inning, you want those guys in the game to close it out. Obviously, I still think last years bullpen implosion against the Mariners in Game 2 is still fresh in the minds of many, including myself. Which is why we associate Schneider as a manager who always gives an early hook. For the most part, guys like Gausman, Bassitt and Berrios and even Kikuchi have been giving the Jays innings this season.
  4. All top prospects, picks are available. As well willing to move Luzardo + for a big piece.
  5. Manoah always seemed like a pissy and entitled *******! Geez own up that you suck this season, go down to the minors and work things out! What a douche!
  6. I was gonna pick Schneider yesterday as well damn. Would have gained a lot of points in two days ugh!
  7. Hopefully Greene is a bit erratic and Ryu can give them a solid 5-6 innings.
  8. Wait, I thought after only ONE week being awful with the D'Backs, it was a horrendous pickup? Yet Varsho over one week hit .316 so all is forgiven for his awful April, May, June and July
  9. August 20 (1:40pm) Bichette - 1 Point - Vladdy - 1 Point - LTBF Springer - 2 Points - Belt - 2 Points - Chapman - 3 Points - Jansen - 3 Points - JaysAllMighty Merrifield - 3 Points - Varsho - 3 Points - WryNGinger Kiermaier - 7 Points - JaysBlue Off the bench: 10 Points -
  10. Ah that's why there were a lot of doubleheaders yesterday. Got it!
  11. Some of these lineup decisions on a daily basis are awful considering the struggles of this lineup all year. Need to ride the hot bats. Schneider should be in the lineup everyday given the way he's hitting, no excuses.
  12. So weird how today is an off-day for a lot of teams around baseball. Not a full slate of games today.
  13. Romano doesn't let anything rattle him. Came up big closing this one out! One of the best closers in baseball!
  14. Yeah he did nothing while here. Though at the time, there weren't any better shortstops available and if Bo was out long term, at least the Jays had a guy who has showed some success in the past at the big league level.
  15. Yeah Kirk will still be around for next season, along with Jansen. If Kirk doesn't return to his 2022 form and is hitting like he is now again, he likely will be traded or non-tendered the following offseason.
  16. I think a lot of posters on here overhyped Kirk way too much. He was really solid last season hitting .285/.372/.415 which I would take everyday from a catcher. But a lot of his power was in May/June and afterwards didn't do that much with the bat. When you look at his numbers from July 2022 till now, he's been pretty awful offensively. That's no small sample size. He's still young enough to rebound and turn his career around, but he needs to get into better shape and improve his power numbers for him to do so. Vladdy has been a huge disappointment. Supposed to be a monster bat and he's hitting like Garrett Cooper out there.
  17. We should all pitch in and buy the Terminator a Biggio jersey
  18. Berrios was awesome. Such a wasted opportunity
  19. Blue Jays cost me money tonight This lineup is awful FFS
  20. I went to see the Jays play in Cincy back in 2011. Saw Jo Jo Reyes, Brandon Morrow and Carlos Villanueva pitch haha. Jays took 2 of 3 and every game was pretty darn close.
