  1. They are definitely not gone. They are the worst thing about this forum and have probably driven away many people.
  2. It's hard to say that we got outbid for Bellinger when it was a pure salary dump. Obviously they didn't value him at his current contract -5 million. I'm ok with that if they have another solution in mind and execute it.
  3. I would love to get Suzuki from Chicago if he's on the market. If we can't get free agents to sign then trading for guys on market value contracts like him and Gimenez is a palatable option.
  4. It's unsurprising for a manager to pump up a player that they don't really like and intend to trade. David Sampson was just saying how often teams do that on Blair & Barker the other day. I guess this is just proof that he is correct.
  5. Not in the Yankees top 30 prospects, anyways. He's pretty old and not a very good defender. Looks like a classic AAAA player to me, kind of like a current Cavan Biggio.
  6. For Cortes and a nothing prospect. Jeff Blair was suggesting we deal Bo straight up for him
  7. In a world where Nathan Eovaldi is getting 75 million, Gimenez at 5/94 is a f***ing steal. I wouldn't have said that before the offseason, but prices are absolutely insane.
  8. Disappointing, but makes sense, given that we had no position for him. Hopefully that's about all we gave up.
  9. Gimenez is entering his age 26 season and has averaged 4.6 FWAR for the last 3 seasons. I have concerns about our roster construction, but I think this trade is a real steal if we didn't give up anything major.
  10. Fried to Yankees for 8 years. Insane.
  11. I know Treinen is definitely not 40 without even looking.
  12. I wouldn't have liked this before the off-season, but seeing guys like Conforto and Cobb go for absolutely mind boggling prices has changed my standards a lot. This is pretty solid if he's healthy.
  13. Jansen got the same amount as Gary Sanchez. Wild.
  14. Cards shopping Steven Matz. If we could get his salary down to 7 or 8 million, I wouldn't hate taking a flier. Pete Walker is still here and Matz still has his velocity.
  15. It really stings to see the biggest piece of s*** in the league treat our fans like dirt and then win a championship. Hopefully the Jays can be in this situation next year to make the sting go away.
  16. Veterans carried a lot of the weight in the successful years of 2021 and 2022. I was never happy with the development of younger players under his watch. I was also unhappy with the lack of a consistent approach and the way that the same obvious problems persisted with hitters for long periods. Not all of the blame lies with him, but I've been consistent with my criticism throughout.
  17. I'm glad to see Guillermo Martinez let go. I'm fine with the rest of the staff, but it's been several years of disappointing/underperforming offenses. This is way overdue.
  18. I wouldn't hate bringing back Stripling back on a cheap deal. He looks bad at first glance, but hasn't lost any velo and has a 3.91 FIP.
  19. He was a salary dump. We were never getting a prospect for overpaid KK.
  20. There's not much out there, but we're a team that would make some sense for Yoan Moncada. I suspect that Clement might end up spending most of his time at SS, either due to trade or injury.
  21. Starting pitching has been solid and all 5 guys return, so that's a bit of a difficult and impractical area to make a large investment. That bring said, they have been largely successful with free agent pitchers so I'm not opposed to it. Hitting has also been average on the whole, but several positions have been black holes. I think we can piece something together at 2B and one of the outfield spots, but 3B and LF are obvious areas for improvement. I'm usually not a proponent of major bullpen additions, but considering we would probably be in the playoff race with a good bullpen, it does make some sense. We've been the worst in the league by far.
  22. Against a couple of awful teams, but nice to watch nonetheless.
  23. 3 games back of Boston if we win this. I'll consider this season a success if they come in last place where they belong.
