    That's not true at all. Your buddy Bauer probably wouldn't have been suspended if the news wasn't plastered all over Twitter every day. MLB has no issue with criminal players, but they do have a problem with bad image costing them money.

    This signing pleases me. Fills a need with a known quantity and gives us flexibility to make other moves all without a long term commitment.

    That's the most naive thing I have read in a long time, to think people care about that. Players that show tremendous disrespectto the game and for fans get booed and they absolutely deserve it. That's the way sports have always been.

    All we learned from this saga is that Ohtani is a piece of s***. Boo the hell out him when he comes here, but I'm otherwise done talking about terrible human beings. There are a lot in baseball.

    They received false information from Ohtani's camp. Ken Rosenthal also received that information and presumably so did JP Morosi. Rosenthal presumably got that refuted by the Dodgers or Blue Jays, while Morosi and Hoornstra did not so they went ahead and published their stories. Very scummy and reprehensible behaviour by Ohtani and his agents either way.

    There's little question that Ohtani's reps put it out there. He and his representatives are total pieces of s***. It's a shame that the league's best player has to be like that but hopefully he just burn out and leave the Dodgers with an albatross contract.

    That's highly unlikely in my opinion. - Ohtani gets offer from Dodgers, which is his preferred destination from day one. - Ohtani's agency needs some leverage so they visit the Blue Jays and put out the leaks that we saw on Friday. - With the strategy complete, Ohtani signs with the Dodgers. It's really that simple.

    Ohtani just used us for leverage and Atkins fell for it. He surely never had any intention of signing here. Also, I was on board with 50 mil per year, but 70 is excessive. Without looking, that may be more than double of any other player, or close to it.

    I'm not really giving this Ohtani stuff any time or emotional investment. I'm jaded from too many years of the Jays being used as pawns. I will celebrate when and if the time comes.
