  1. Fluharty in a tight game with a fully rested pen is absolutely baffling. I hate to keep saying the same thing, but why did we not invest in our disgustingly poor middle relief corps in the offseason. It has cost us 2 games already. Just pure idiocy.
  2. Come on Kirky. Golden chance to score 2 runs against a mediocre middle reliever.
  3. That was a strike and Tony knew it. Oh well, I'll take it!
  4. Good 2nd from Gausman. He's looked good, just that one flyball that carried much further than you ever would have expected.
  5. I don't understand the curtain call. That's embarrassing for them.
  6. Really enjoyed that Gausman-Soto matchup. You could tell that the slider caught him off guard and got in his head, especially on that last swing where he was looking for a breaking pitch.
  7. Pitching matchups line up well this series, with us avoiding Senga and having the advantage in each game. Hopefully we can get off to a hot start in this game.
  8. Pete Walker is a legend. Could be another success story under his watch.
  9. Is Lucas expected to get another start? I haven't looked closely at the schedule.
  10. Lucas could give us 5 innings at this rate. I certainly didn't expect that. The value of Pete Walker really showing.
  11. Was the tag on the wrist or the helmet. That's the question that you can't really tell on the replay.
  12. If he excels in his platoon role for a month or two, I would like to see him given an extended chance against lefties.
  13. So what do we make of Will Wagner so far? Can his knack for making hard contact make up for his lack of other skills and allow him to be a starter, or will he be limited to a platoon role?
  14. On pace for 13 WAR and 97 home runs! Obviously that will continue. Even just an average hitting (100 wRC+) Gimenez is a 4-5 WAR player, so this trade is a win if he does that. If he's back to MVP from then it's one of the best trades in team history. It's looking less and less likely that he's the player that Cleveland got in 2024.
  15. Crochet gets 6/170. Trying to set my bias aside here, but almost 30 million per year is outrageous for a guy who is extraordinarily injury prone and has only started 33 games in his entire 6 year career.
  16. 15 strikeouts in 19 at-bats for Devers. That's got to be close to record. Boston is, unsurprisingly, playing like s*** to begin the season. Their extremely weak rotation will be their downfall.
  17. Based on Soroka's W-L record last year, which is obviously the most important metric to look at, we should have a 100% of winning tonight's game.
  18. Does his contract have positive value at this point? Probably a bit, but not a huge amount. Would you be ok playing him at 3B for the next few seasons?
  19. That's another MLB record through 4 games. I understand the reasoning for the move, but they made a promise to him when he signed a 10 year contract and it was obviously very important to him. The organization consistently treats people like s***, they have the worst fans in the history of professional sports, and hires a manager who should have a lifetime ban from baseball and players sign there. I just don't get it and I never will.
  20. That's a new major league record. It's crazy how they have alienated their best player over this. It's not surprising though, given that their manager should have a lifetime ban from baseball.
  21. It's unfortunate that our new player development facility hasn't been able to address some of the most obvious issues with our young players.
  22. Hopefully some relievers end up on waivers that we can snag.
