Nuggets fire Malone and their GM with 3 games left. That's absolutely insane.
  2. We can also expect Boston's horrendous defense to play a role, given the weather conditions.
  3. That call is definitely incorrect if the video is synced up, but that doesn't excuse Wagner. At least have the presence of mind to pull up and let Springer score without having to rely on the umps making a proper call.
  4. He's definitely safe if those are synced up.
  5. Why is Berrios still pitching when Bassitt got pulled in the same situation with a similar number of pitches? I don't disagree with leaving Berrios in, but it's a little puzzling.
  6. s***** pitching and defense from Boston. No surprises here. Hopefully our bullpen can hang on.
  7. That's T-shirt weather for most Canadians! If there's not much wind and you have your blood pumping, it's probably not too bad.
  8. Winker is already out if the 3rd base umpire doesn't make a ridiculously bad call on the check swing.
  9. This game is entirely on the manager. Just embarrassing. Why in the f*** isn't Chad Green out there? I hate every f***ing thing about this team's bullpen strategy. It's probably the worst in the league by a considerable margin and I'm not exaggerating.
  10. You have to face 3 guys either way. You could have had Little ready for Nimmo. I don't understand why Green is on this roster, if not to face the top of their order in a 2 run game in the 8th.
  11. I'll be interested to see the umpire stats after this game. It's by far the worst strike zone we've seen this year in my opinion.
  12. I'm shocked that they wouldn't pinch hit for Siri.
  13. Please let Bassitt go another inning. I don't trust our bullpen.
  14. This ump is f***ing horrible. Good job by Bo to get through that without getting rattled.
  15. It's so nice to see him looking healthy and effective. You never know what to expect from these old guys sometimes, but he obviously hasn't lost anything.
  16. If it were as simple as looking at a 'stuff' stat and only signing guys if it's higher than your available relievers then we wouldn't see teams consistently build good bullpens, while other teams like us consistently struggle. If we truly thought that guys like Lovelady and Fluharty were better than the players available then that suggests that our projection systems are extraordinarily flawed. We have perhaps the league's finest pitching coach and still can't get results. I have doubts that it's a coaching problem. That can be addressed, but in the meantime we should have acknowledged our failures and spent a bit of money to get better options in place. Chris Martin (1/5), Jonathan Loaisaga (1/3), and Justin Wilson (1/2) were some names that I suggested in the offseason. There's a good chance that we already have another win this season, had we signed one of them
  17. Poor Springer getting absolutely f***ed by the umpires tonight. Embarrassing for the league.
  18. Swanson has a FIP over 6 last season and we knew that he was injured well before the season started. I believe that he can be good, but counting on him as a key reliever would have been extremely naive. It's not like we're a solid bullpen group with only 1 weak spot, either. The lack of both talent and depth was extremely obvious back in February. Did you actually believe that we wouldn't have to use minor league calibre relievers in key situations before the season started? I think a lot of us saw this situation coming and being a problem all season.
  19. Well sure, but that wasn't the case at the time that I made the post. You can't expect to contend and have Fluharty out there in a 2 run game, with a 100% fully rested bullpen. That's downright embarrassing. They let the cheapest area to address as the obvious Achilles heel of the team.
  20. A second game lost already because we didn't invest in middle relief, via major league signings, or smart minor league signings. It was an obvious black hole and surely guys would have jumped at the chance to earn a spot. Who's next in the merry-go-round of s***** ass relievers when Fluharty gets DFA'd?
