  1. Get used to it. He's a master of throwing out stupid takes about everything and constantly bringing up the few that stick. It's been going on for a decade, with no end in sight.
  2. Perhaps Atkins living out a fantasy of having a lady love such a s***** GM.
  3. Our HR in a game record is safe for another day.
  4. I was highly critical of the lack of investment in middle relievers this off-season and it's costing us already. It's the same ******** that cost us last season and they didn't even make an attempt to address it. Embarrassing.
  5. We cut Yarborough for this guy. Brilliant decision making.
  6. Jays 10 home run in a game record is in jeopardy. The Yankees have 9 now.
  7. It's looking more and more like we've acquired 2022 Andres Gimenez.
  8. Jamie Campbell's statement really puts this into perspective. A Hall of Famer hasn't thrown a pitch for the Blue Jays for 16 years. I'm going to enjoy this.
  9. I know we saw him in ST, but watching Scherzer pitch in a Jays uniform will be one of the biggest early season thrills we have seen in a while.
  10. It's nice to see Sandlin looking good. Middle relief is a massive weakness for us and a guy like him being decent in 60+ appearances would be huge.
  11. Having the second game of the year not televised is a really s***** move by MLB. At least it's a better game than yesterday.
  12. Berrios awful, bullpen awful. I'm not happy with the lack of depth in the 'pen and having to rely on guys like Barnes. Hopefully we can find some good middle relievers throughout the year.
  13. It's going to be interesting to see how this skill is valued, should it be implemented in the regular season.
  14. Outside of Springer making a bunch in 2026, the contract situation seems fine. We're not locked into any bad long term money at the moment. A new GM would have a lot of payroll flexibility.
  15. Thank you sir!!
  16. It wasn't so bad up on the field, but both times I found the concession areas reeked of urine. I understand that it's an old stadium, but I think the huge lines at the limited washrooms cause people to urinate in the corridors. That being said, the highlight of my first game was the tour of the stadium, as I'm a big history lover. It was mostly Jays fans and we had a good laugh at the anger of the tour guide when we correctly pointed out that the Ted Williams seat is the second longest HR behind Rowdy Tellez. The ignorant fans and racist taunts are, of course, an enduring feature of Boston sports. NBA players sometimes speak out on the things that are said to them in Boston and it's not too kind.
  17. Twice. The reviews about the persistent smell of urine, ignorant fans, and racist taunts were spot on both times.
  18. He was supposedly offered 6/170 already and turned it down.
  19. He's cemented his poor legacy by playing for the cheating Astros and then the worst organization in the history of professional sports.
  20. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/02/red-sox-to-sign-alex-bregman.html An opt out after each season and an extremely high salary really limits the upside of this deal, although it also limits the risk. I wouldn't have wanted the Jays to do this.
  21. This thread is averaging about one post per day. There's no discussion happening, it's just news posted that nobody responds to. Can we re-open the discussion about putting this thread in the main forum where it belongs?
  22. Pivetta signs 4/55 with Padres. Signing him for that and moving Bassitt for a bat would have been a shrewd move in my opinion.
  23. Shockingly low ranking for Wagner. I get that he's 26, but he's already shown something at the major league level and ZIPS projects him for 2.4 WAR. History suggests that the other 4 probably don't even make an impact at the major league level.
  24. I don't really have an angle. Alonso never made sense for us from a roster construction perspective and I don't believe reports. Too many people on these forums treat these reports like they are factual. I do believe that we are in on Bregman because he makes far more sense for our roster.
  25. It's entirely speculation at this point, so we'll probably never know. The media reports don't prove that there was any actual interest. Agents leak that kind of thing all of the time.
