  1. I want to say that I absolutely understand the idea of piggybacking with Kikuchi and I think it’s a good idea. I also think that Schneider needs to be flexible with this plan if Berrios looks really good.
  2. We just have to put it in play. Have you guys ever seen a playoff team play worse defense, Elvis Andrus excepted?
  3. Gausman gave up his first home run in the exact same location. Crazy
  4. I love umpires changing the way they do things in the playoffs for no apparent reason.
  5. Lol, Jeffers is a real piece of s*** behind the plate. He's done that a few times now, the umpires must hate him.
  6. That's the SEVENTH 'error' in 10 innings and the third by Polanco. It's so important that we finally cash one in.
  7. That's the second consecutive defensive miscue on the first pitch of the game by the same player. He should have had that. Way to take advantage George!
  8. People are acting as if the Twins identified splitter out of the hand and laid off or something. That clearly wasn't the case. They went up like a 3-0 count and had already decided not to swing before the ball left his hand. Everyone knows that stance when they see it. We saw very few check swings or anything.
  9. Some other notes: Gausman had good velo and started the game locating his fastball down in the zone for strikes, but it could not be more obvious that they knew the splitter was coming. The broadcast mentioned it's the least number of swings all season, despite pretty good location. That caused him to fall behind and challenge more up in the zone with the fastball, where he got burned twice. He adjusted and threw the splitter in the zone in the last 2 innings for lot of called strikes, which was more successful. He probably should have started with that because they weren't even flinching when they saw splitter coming. Chapman's 400+ foot fly was the biggest turning point of the game. One more foot or a different part of the park and the Jays win. Minnesota's defense is horrendous, particularly Polanco at 3B. They gifted us no less than 4 outs, perhaps 5.
  10. I don't know how I can make this more clear. Gausman made the same pitches in the same locations that he has all season, with better velocity than we usually see. He made one mistake to Royce Lewis and has made that kind of mistake in every start. Whatever Twins know or planned for, depending on your perspective, Gausman was still good. It's unfortunate how things turned out, but this exact pitching led to a Cy calibre season. Give credit to the other team's coaching/scouting.
  11. Good time to have your worst AB of the season, Bo.
  12. Jax is a good, but hardly dominant, setup guy. Duran will pitch multiple innings. We have to get him now and that's a good start.
  13. We're leading this game if it goes 2 feet further. Don't underestimate the home run.
  14. Our relievers have been very efficient. I expect a guy like Swanson could pitch in all 3 games.
  15. Correa looks as bad as a hitter can look. Shocking really.
  16. f***, the bad luck is absolutely killing us. Twins getting all of the breaks. Nice job by Chapman.
  17. Hey team leader in doubles. A double would be really nice here.
  18. I wonder why they had Thielbar up, if not for KK and Varsho. Management mistake from Baldelli for sure.
  19. He's certainly not showing it in this game.
  20. Wow, Kirk is WAY off of the plate. Scared of being hit again?
  21. I'm not saying he's biased or anything, but this ump shouldn't get another playoff game. He's been wildly inconsistent.
  22. The best pitching and defense in the league, or close to it.
  23. I was just about to say that. This has nothing to do with split fingers fastballs and everything to do with Kevin Gausman. Paul Molitor was talking today about tips they had on guys in 93. I'm going to be so pissed when I hear what the tip was 30 years from now haha.
  24. That's what he always does and is a Cy Young candidate, numbnuts.
