  1. He could be a citizen of Israel in a few days if he wanted to.
  2. Literally please.
  3. I'll always remember that Canada-Mexico game.
  4. That's the absolute maximum I would give him. We'd be smarter to explore short term options in my opinion.
  5. On the flip side of that, they have often benched Dyson in favour of inferior players. Maybe that's just Yost, but it's possible that they don't fully recognize his value (or we overrate him).
  6. Curtis Granderson is a much more appealing option in my opinion anyways. Giving a long term deal and a pick to get Fowler would probably end up poorly for us.
  7. Sometimes it is open here, just depends on the weather. Sitting in the sunshine is just so much nicer than freezing in a hut.
  8. I know this isn't usually an option for Southerners, but I love ice fishing in April. There's nothing like sitting on the ice in your T-shirt and catching lake trout.
  9. Robles, Rendon, and Turner isn't a bad start.
  10. I don't know about that. They have a lot of young pitching talent to build around.
  11. Well except for the fresh air part if you live in Southern Ontario.
  12. Certainly. A lefty that gets grounders is always nice to have as depth.
  13. Monte Cristo sandwich with my homemade maple syrup... *drools*
  14. Perhaps he would, but I'd prefer to solve our outfield situation before moving Upton. Right new, he's one of our top options, unfortunately.
  15. I'd be willing to pay more to land him on a 2 year deal or a one year deal with an option. That way, we can be patient with his recovery and have a potential starter under control when Liriano and Estrada are free agents.
  16. I don't know what the team said exactly, but we need to hit RHP better in my opinion. That can be accomplished by getting more LH bats. It's why I advocate trading for a guy like Curtis Granderson and perhaps another LH hitter to platoon with Upton.
  17. Barely, and one year splits don't mean anything. You said you aren't a stats guy so take my word for it. Martin is much better against LHP for his career and that matters.
  18. I'd certainly give him a shot as a reliever, but not as a starter.
  19. Ideally you would have Russ Martin facing all of the lefties, no?
  20. Why do you say that? He's a horrific framer and the bat isn't much better, if at all.
  21. Well he'd certainly cost less than 1/6 or else they would have traded him. He's an average framer, average arm, good bat. I'd love to have him but being Russ Martin's backup isn't an appealing job. He'd be smart to go to the Phillies or something. I think we have to go after De La Rosa though. He could be a very good reliever.
  22. I was under the impression that a 40 man roster spot wasn't necessary to protect a player from the minor league Rule V.
  23. Comfortably top 10 in baseball is the most specific thing that I recall Shapiro saying, but that probably just means 140 million. Anything more than that would just be speculation.
  24. I don't define myself based on what internet personalities think of me, so think what you will. I'm respected for intelligence and integrity amongst my peers and friends. If that isn't what comes across on the forum then so be it. Everyone should realize that text based communication is extremely inefficient. I just enjoy talking baseball with the many other open minded people that discuss baseball without prejudice.
