Free pick for employing one of the best relievers in baseball Kyle Boddy should just become the GM. I'm sure he would have more success running the whole org.

I’d love to sign Verlander for two years and fill the final rotation spot with one of the mid tier options available in free agency or in trade. No long term commitments added to the rotation and massive upside. Should still be able to add an infielder and a couple BP pieces depending how cheap you go on the second SP.

I think the board first started advocating for him the summer of his 8th grade year. He was getting groundballs at a 51% clip

Dude you should cc Atkins on this because he’s the one who made the decision not me

    Syndergaard 21M>>>Matz 18M

I believe he takes the QO if offered

The caveat is you commit that up front, you don’t have the luxury of seeing how the market shakes out What’s the upside? The downside is that you tie your hands on other free agent deals to lock up a mediocre starter when there are ten other guys on the market just let him plus trade targets in CIN/OAK/MIA It never made sense to give Matz a QO

Nice deal for LAA If he’s a stud they look like geniuses. If he’s hurt it’s just another let down year in LA and he’s gone

Nobody is going to wish they had paid Steven Matz 20M this year Offering him a QO was never a good idea

Awesome news. Shapiro and Atkins rarely disappoint. Give up two of your top five prospects for a guy with 1.5 years of control and then get him extended a month into the offseason. Great work.

They aren’t related but no way I’d give 33 year old Marte 100M. If the Diamondbacks are hanging up without Moreno why wouldn’t the Indians? Doesn’t really make any sense other than Marte is controlled for a year longer. Ramirez is the better player. The Jays wouldn’t have to give up Moreno for either one in my opinion.

Ketel Marte is the ultimate fit for this team. He's going to make 8M this year and has two club options for 10/12M which is probably too expensive for the D Backs Slides right into 2B replacing Semien Can play CF Switch hitter Lots of contact Cheap I'd be fine giving up Groshans++ to land him 7 (!) WAR season in 2019 28 years old in the prime of his career

I mean if you're only going to give him 1 you might as well give him zero. Make it a race back into/out of the dugout and if the entire defensive team is in position before the scheduled batter is in the box the pitcher can begin throwing pitches. That'll speed the game up! The old boys friggin love hustle too that'll fire them right up!

Have you ever stepped on a mound and pitched in a real game?

Rodon is a ticking time bomb but if Pearson sucks or is injured again this year his stock is gonna drop significantly. If you’re a legit contender and Rodon can help you win this year I’d probably do it. I also bet there is another arm you could target for Pearson+ with a higher floor. I’d rather have a guy like Berrios or Logan Webb for example who might not be valued as high.
  20. L54
    What type of picks?
  21. L54
What was he going to give you?
  22. L54
Crazy that he’s been as valuable as Kevin Maitan
  23. L54
David Jacob was a sneaky upside play
  24. L54
    Awful

Not even the dogg would post that. That’s the craziest post I’ve read on the board.
